" Hal?"
Tray looks astonished.
"What are you doing here?"
"I...."
Now that I'm standing before his door, my mouth is sewed.
"I came to ask if you have my phone or if you've seen it somewhere or I dropped it and you took it or it's just lost."
Tray is still in shock.
"Everything okay?"
A girl pops out her head behind him. She's slender and has lots of curly black hair.
And she looks totally pissed to see me here.
She places a hand possessively on his arm. Tray is not wearing a shirt so her bare skin is touching his.
My stomach twist.
"S-sorry. It was rude of me to show up like this. I'll see you later, okay?"
And then I'm speed-walking down the hall.
" Hal! Wait up."
I stop and slowly turn around.
He looks bewildered.
"Where are you going?"
"I didn't mean to interrupt. I know you're busy, I just thought you have my cellphone."
" Wait here."
He half jogs back to his room and comes back.
I bet he went to kiss his mistress.
"Here." He hands me a small black box. I open it cautiously.
A pack of blue painkillers, some cotton wool and my phone.
I look up and he's smiling.
" Thank you. But this wasn't necessary."
I hand the box back to him after I've grabbed my phone.
" Thanks again for my cell phone but I can't take those."
" It's okay really. Accept it as a gift."
"Well, okay..."
I check my phone. Four messages and six missed calls.
We're quiet and it's getting late.
" I should go. I shouldn't keep you waiting."
" No, let me drive you."
"No need. Dave is waiting outside. And he has a "car"
I make sure I stress on the word "C-A-R..."
His eyebrows rise slowly.
" Okay. Bye." I mumble.
He slowly turns to walk but he's still looking at me. He doesn't even notice the guy walking towards him.
"Whoops." They bump into each other.
" Sorry man." Tray says and springs backwards.
" Watch where you going dude." The Huge guys roars and walks down the hallway.
I head outside and call Polly. She picks on the first ring.
" Where are you? We leaving."
" Gee Hal, what's with the temper? I'm outside."
I hung up.
I find her sitted on one of the school benches.
" So what happened?"
