I carefully walk downstairs to get some water.

Both Marissa and Dad are sitting at the dining table, talking in low whispers. I stand awkwardly and they both stand.

" How are you feeling? Do you need anything?" Dad asks and steps towards me.

" No," I shake my head. " Just some water."

He helps me sit down on one of the chairs and Marissa places a glass of water infront of me.

I drink it slowly.

" We're both so worried." Dad says and touch my hand.

I smile despite my red puffy eyes.

" Marissa and I have been talking and we both think that you should move out of town for a while, you know, get away from all this. You've had a rough time sweetheart, I don't want to see you hurting like this... It's killing me."

His eyes water.

I look down at the table.

" You can stay at my place." Marissa says.

" I....Umm... "I- guess- that's- fine?"

They both look surprised.

" We thought you would say no."

Because of Marissa? Right...

" If that's the case, you both can leave tomorrow afternoon."

" Great." I sigh and stand.

" Excuse me."

" I don't want to go." I groan loudly.

" But we won't have another appointment, today's our only chance." Polly answers and drops a mass of clothes on my bed.

" How's this?" She asks and I eye the short dress.

I shrug my shoulders and look down at my fingers.

" Okay, that's a no, how about..." She grabs another one. " This?"

She holds the dress up and my heart sinks. It's the pink dress I wore at the dance. Polly notices my reaction and immediately shoves it away. I turn my head toward the window and literally see Tray's ghost.

He smiles that perfect smile then disappear into thin air.

" Hey," Polly reaches out for my arm. " It's okay... I'm sorry." She says and hugs me.

I miss Tray so much it's killing me!

" I'll wear my black jeans." I tell her and she smiles.

" We should hurry, I heard she hates waiting on people." She says and starts changing her clothes.

" I'll go brush my teeth."

" This place looks creepy." I whisper next to Polly as we pass the dusty skulls placed on the wooden tables.

" Are you sure this is the place? Oh my god, are those eye balls?...Yuck!"

" It's a fortune teller store, it's supposed to be creepy." She whispers.

Someone coughs behind us.

" I see you've come." The old lady with long grey hair says. " Come, I don't have much time." She says and enters a room lit with small candles.

We sit cross-legged on small pillows.

The old lady with extremely dirty nails places her cards flat on the floor. I look at Polly and she smiles and winks.

I don't get why she's so excited.

" Let me see your palms."

I hold out my palms and she examines it keenly.

" I see two souls in love, it's so pure, unbreakable."

And over...

She points a card of hearts.

" But, I also see darkness." She points a card different from the others.

" Am afraid your souls won't align."

" What do you mean won't align?"

She coughs.

" The darkness has grown stronger and the souls can't be together, no matter how much they try. One must suffer."

Okay, time to go...

I stand and grab Polly's hand.

" We should go, It was nice talking to you."

I drag Polly outside and we knock a few bottles off the shelves.

" We are never coming back here. What the fuck did she even mean? Souls? darkness? Trash!"

" I didn't even get my chance!" Polly whines.

My phone buzzes with a text.

Gabby : *We're having lunch with Ken at the new restaurant. Would you like to join us?*

Me: *Polly's with me. We're otw.*

" Let's go eat something, I'm famished."
