Lukes pov

"Everyone head out onto the field, unless you're on my football team then hang back for a moment."

I sigh as I sit on the bench in the changing rooms. "Seriously Tyler, you're not going to change my mind."

"You're so boring it hurts." I roll my eyes. "My bad for not wanting to drink myself into a coma on a what- Thursday night?" He groans as he shoves on his shoes.

"Just once, just one time do I want you to not be the most boring-"

"Ok listen up, I want to let you guys know I've counted your team captain votes." I mentally thank the universe for shutting Tyler up as I tie my laces.

I don't know why he's so shocked i'm saying no, as if i've not said no for the past three months. I told him during summer i'm not spending my entire senior year hungover and somehow he heard 'please beg me every time even though I won't change my mind.'

"Luke." I look up to see everyone staring at me.

"Um, what?"

"I said you're the team's new captain, congratulations! I expect it's gonna be a good year for us. Now, go join the rest of the class i'll be out in a moment." I watch as the older man leaves, my mouth slightly agape.

Is this a joke?

"I uhh, thanks everyone? I guess?." The rest of the guys quickly jump to congratulating me before walking out, all except Peter of course.

I pull a slightly bewildered face at Tyler who's clearly trying to hold in his laughter. "Well done man." I shove him slightly as we walk over to the field. "Shut up, I only signed up for this shit for you now and now I'm captain? If I can curse anyone evidently I did it to myself." He chuckles.

"Dude this is a good thing, be proud of yourself." I roll my eyes. "I don't give a shit about football Ty, this is just gonna be inconvenient." He smirks. "Well start caring, captain." We continue to walk down to where the rest of the class is gathered, coach joining us all too.

"Ok simple football passing drills today since the freshman class are using the sports hall. So, team captain you choose first, who do you wanna pass with?" I smirk.

"Oscar." The small boys face goes bright red as he sends me a look that seems to be silently calling me crazy.

"Damn Luke, you're really gonna throw with your boyfriend again? No offence Oscar but you're not exactly challenging to work against." Oscar smiles bashfully and agrees with Tom, one of the team players.

"No he's staying with me." Mutters of laughter spread across the group.

"Okay mr overprotective, its a PE class not a fucking date." I glare at Nick, another team player whose now laughing his ass off.

"Okay okay calm down, everyone pair up and go practice."

I gently pull Oscar over to a random space.

It's been two weeks since me and Oscar started dating and honestly, it's been great. Most of the school accepted us since they are either scared of me or simply don't care, and im not complaining.

"Y-you got t-team captain? Well d-done!" I smile softly at Oscar. "I didn't exactly ask for it but I guess everyone just didn't want to put up with Peters shit anymore." He lets out a small understanding huff.

I grab a ball and make a gap between us before dropping it. I go to kick the ball to him but before I even let go he turns and flinches.

I chuckle and walk over. "Angel, are you scared of a football? I'm passing you a ball not a bomb." He stands up and groans in embarrassment, a soft red painting his face.
