Oscars povI sigh as a shiver runs through my body, gently tugging at my sleeves in hopes to cover as much skin as possible. I hate winter. I look up and swiftly make my way into the grey building and frown when I realise it's no warmer inside.
I guess someone forgot to put the heating on again.
I walk down the hall heading towards the library, thankful that my first class is a free study session. I take a seat at my normal computer, rubbing my eyes in hopes it helps me feel more awake. Thank god I've already done my homework meaning I can basically do nothing.
I lean back into my seat and find a random documentary about the rainforest so it at least seems like I'm doing something. I hazily watch the screen, though after five minutes realise I'm taking none of it in.
I rub my face and jump when I feel a pair of hands roughly grab my shoulder.
"Hey umm, fuck whats your name again?" I look over to the tall blond girl who's appeared beside me. "Oscar." She smiles while looking at her nails.
"Cute. Anyways, i'm just here to say i'm gonna need you to stop dating Luke, K?" I rest my head on my hand, too tired to really be bothered.
"Why?" She smiles weirdly. "Because little Levi-" I frown. "Oscar." She rolls her eyes. "Same thing. Listen, Luke is my Phoenix mate." I feel my stomach drop.
"H-He is?" When did that happen? How come he hasn't mentioned it to me? I- I thought maybe...
She hums and tilts her head. "Yeah- well we haven't gotten the actual scars yet but we will soon I know it." I feel my heart stutter before I let out a subtle sigh of relief.
"I mean really, why date someone elses phoenix mate right? Thats quite frankly really rude."
I pause and let my tired mind wonder. I suppose she has a point.
I mean, what if she's being serious and Luke really is actually her Phoenix mate? What rights do I have to get in the way of that. But what if she's wrong?
I sigh. "Talk t-to Luke ab-about it." She scoffs. "So you're not going to break up with him?" I shake my head, begging for the conversation to end. "N-Not unless he wa-wants to." She frowns.
"Well o-o-o-o-Oscar, nice talking to you." I stare at her blankly as she walks away, trying my best to hide the hurt from my face.
I really should be used to people making fun of me for my stutter by now, but for some reason it just doesn't get easier. It's not like I got this from having a fun time. It's something I've had for years and I know it's gotten so much worse this past year or so, but why can't people just move past it?
Is that really all people notice about me?
I sigh as I feel a body sit next to me, not prepared to hear her say any more. "Hey angel." I smile and look over to Luke, mentally cheering that it's him instead of her. "Hi." He frowns slightly.
"Whats up? You're upset." I smile at him and shake my head. "N-n-nothing I'm o-o..." I sigh and lean against the desk in defeat.
"Hmm angel it's okay, I think it's cute." I turn my head and smile at him, though it mustn't be as realistic as i hope.
"Oh you're actually upset about it, did someone say something? Or is it just worse today?" I shrug and rub my face, not exactly wanting to tell him what Sarah said. "It's f-fine, i-i'm just extra t-tired i guess." He hums and nudges my shoulder.
"Anything I can do?" I shake my head and smile at him. "No t-thankyou." I smile as I feel his leg rest against mine, neither of us pulling away. The soft touch grounding.
