It was the night before the Triwizard Champions would be chosen and many students, like myself, had gathered in the Great Hall to watch people put their name in the goblet. I sat next to Hermione as we watched Fleur Delacour and another Beauxbatons girl enter their names.
The doors opened again and the famous Viktor Krum walked in. All voices died down as he walked up to the goblet. He stepped into the ring and raised his hand. Right before he dropped his name in, he looked to the side and I felt Hermione tense up. He was looking straight at her as he let go of the piece of parchment. He then left and whispers erupted.
"What was that all about?" I asked. She was blushing furiously.
"Nothing", she said but the tone of her voice told me otherwise. I rolled my eyes with a laugh.
Next, the Durmstrang guy that had winked at Katie, Angelina and I during their big entrance came in. I quickly looked away as our eyes met swiftly. He was incredibly handsome, but he also made me feel a little on-edge, like I had to be all put-together around them. He walked up to the goblet and entered his name, followed by another student from that school. All these Durmstrang guys were so serious. Did they ever smile? I was so used to having people like Fred and George around me that these boys seemed to come straight from a funeral.
Suddenly, the twins stormed into the Great Hall, excited by whatever they had up their sleeve. They were holding potions, ageing potions. I rolled my eyes and laughed at the sight. People cheered for them and they seemed to enjoy it.
"It's not going to work", Hermione sang and I agreed with her.
"Oh yeah? And why is that, Granger?" George asked as they sat down either side of her.
"You see, this is an age line", she explained. "Dumbledore drew it himself."
Fred shrugged. "So?"
"So, a genius like Dumbledore couldn't possibly be fooled by a dodge as pathetically dimwitted as an ageing potion", Hermione said annoyed.
"And that's why it's so brilliant", Fred said.
"Because it is so pathetically dimwitted", George added.
And so they took the potion and jumped over the age line. Surprisingly, nothing happened. This couldn't possibly work.
They threw in their names and again, nothing happened. Everyone started cheering, yet I didn't. When was something going to happen?
As soon as that thought had crossed my mind, the goblet started acting up, refusing the names of the twins. They were thrown out of the circle and everyone started laughing. I too couldn't keep myself from smiling as I saw their ginger locks turn into long, white, frizzy hair and beards.
"Looking handsome", I said as I passed them.

I was studying in the library when suddenly someone sat down in the chair in front of me. I didn't even notice because for some odd reason, I was completely lost in my potions book. I had to find a way to make the Amortentia potion less... intense.
"Amortentia, huh?" I heard and I jumped back in surprise. Unfortunately, my chair didn't like that very much and got stuck behind the carpet, causing me to fall back and tumble to the ground.
"Oh, I'm so sorry", the guy said and walked over to me. I rolled of the chair and couldn't help but giggle. Just then I noticed the accent. The guy offered his hand to pull me up and I took it.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." I heard and finally looked up. It was the Durmstrang guy, the one that had winked at me just a few days ago. He didn't get selected as the Durmstrang champion, Viktor Krum did, coincidentally.
"It's quite okay, don't worry. I should pay more attention, I said and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear, blushing furiously. Great first impression Y/N.
"I'm Michael, from Durmstrang", he said and I looked up again. I really had to get it together.
"Y/N, from Hogwarts", I said and shook his hand. He was handsome, like really handsome. I had noticed that when he came in, but up close was even better. He was a lot taller than me, and pretty muscular, making me feel kind of intimidated. His hair was light brown and short on the sides, but a bit longer on top. And I wasn't lying when I said that his eyes were strikingly green. They were fascinating yet again, intimidating.
"Very nice to meet you Y/N", he said and winked. He handed me the potions book I had dropped in my phenomenal first impression and I smiled gratefully.
"I hope to see you around", he said and walked away. Bloody hell, this incredibly handsome Durmstrang guy was talking to me and I did absolutely nothing. I, Y/N Y/L/N had caught his attention enough for him to make the first move and now I was doing absolutely nothing. I was such a loser. I quickly put by books into my bag and swung it around my shoulder. My eyes scanned the library and fell on Michael who was sitting on the other side, reading a book.
I gathered all the courage I had left and walked up to him.
He didn't notice me right away, so I decided to do the same thing he did to me. Unfortunately for me, his topic wasn't as easy to read. He was Swedish, of course.
"Gosta... Berling Saga?" I muttered and he looked up with a grin. I wish I would have reacted that cool.
"Nice try", he said and I shrugged. I tried to be as confident as possible. He pulled out the chair next to him and I sat down. "Gösta Berlings Saga, I do not recommend it", he said and the title sounded so much different in his accent. I was such a loser.
"What's it about?" I asked and he closed it. The words on the back cover were gibberish to me.
"Adults and a tacky love story", he said and put down the book.
"So you're from Sweden? What's it like there?" I asked. I couldn't look up for long before his green eyes would make me blush. They were so... intense.
"A lot colder than it is here. Yet very beautiful."
We talked for a while about nothing important. He was handsome and kind, yet way too intimidating for me. I felt like I had to be calm and collected around him, which I definitely wasn't most of the times. He was nice, and maybe he could be my first international friend, but that was about it.
