AN: Hello everyone! Welcome back to Soul of Shadows! We're going to start with Sorina and pick up where we left off in the last chapter before shifting gears. Hope you all enjoy! Be sure to drop some comments as you read! Now onward and forward to Chapter Five!

We all looked at Damien with serious expressions.
"Really another traitor?" Starlene asked, "And just who do you think it is?"
"I don't know yet, but keep your guard up," Damien replied.
We all nodded and breakfast concluded.

I walked into the throne room and noticed that the arrangement of the thrones had changed. Damien's throne was in the centre as usual, but now to his right was Selena and to his left was Starlene. I was to Selena's right and Gabriel was to Starlene's left. Stefan, had he been here, would have been sitting to my right. Alexandra's throne had been removed from the room and it felt odd not seeing her throne there.
Selena's throne was brand new. Like the rest of the thrones it was made of black stone and had black cushions on the seat and back. Her throne was studded with diamonds that sparkled, reminding us all of the night sky, giving a strong indication of her title. There were blue lapis lazuli stones along the edge of the back of her throne, in order to represent her caring nature.
Damien, Selena, Gabriel, and Starlene were all sitting on their thrones. As usual I was the last one to arrive. I sat down and Damien took Selena's hand in his and brought it to his lips, kissing it tenderly. I had to hold back a sigh. Why couldn't I have that with Mason? Wait what? Selena gave me a sideways glance. Curses. She had felt my emotions. She knew I was attracted to Mason, but that didn't mean I was ready to admit to her that I was starting to fall for him.
"Shall we get started?" Damien asked our page, Carson. He nodded.
"Firstly, the High One and the Queen of the Stars have an announcement," Carson told the Court.
"The Queen of the Stars and I are very pleased to announce that we are expecting our first child," Damien declared. Selena smiled at him and he kissed the back of her hand.
There was applause at that news and the Ladies of the Court gushed over how radiant my beloved sister in law looked.
Damien waited until the Court quieted down and then he spoke again.
"In other news, I'm sure you're all aware of Mason Wilder's presence here in Cygnus Keep," Damien began and there were murmurs of discontent. The Court had been notified when we decided to house Mason in Cygnus Keep, and they weren't happy about it. Not that they could do anything, of course. They weren't the ones wearing the crowns or sitting on the thrones.
