North Star was primarily a hospital for supernaturals, but they treated humans as well, just so they could stay under the radar.

The cars screeched to a stop in front of the emergency room doors and five women rushed out.

We all got out and the women gasped.

"The High Council of Vampires," one of the women gasped. Her eyes flashed purple, a symbol of her Faerie nature.

"Please, my wife needs help," Damien pleaded. The broken tone in his voice reminded me of the gravity of the situation.

"What happened?" the faerie nurse asked.

"We were in a battle," Damien replied.

"How far along is she?" the faerie asked.

"A little over six months," Damien replied.

The faerie turned to the other four nurses.

"You two take Queen Selena upstairs," she commanded, "The rest of us are going to treat the rest of the High Council."

They nodded and Selena was placed on a gurney and wheeled away.

"Follow me," the nurse told us. We went inside and were placed in a private treatment bay.

The nurses arrived and began to examine and treat our cuts and bruises. We were all pretty battered and bruised. The battle had been bloody and while we all usually had the capacity to heal ourselves, we were all exhausted.

"I'm fine!" Damien insisted as he refused to sit down and be examined, "I need to see Selena."

"Damien, the sooner you shut up, sit down, and get your injuries dealt with, the sooner we can all see Selena," Starlene told him.

Unsurprisingly, Damien listened to Starlene. She always had an amazing ability to get through to Damien, especially when he was panicked and stressed.

After the nurses finished treating our injuries, they took us upstairs, where we found ourselves in a VIP waiting room. We were the only ones there, something for which I was grateful. No doubt, news of what happened at Cygnus Keep was already spreading through the supernatural world. We didn't need any attention on us, not now anyway.

"There's a bathroom over there, if you need it," one of the nurses told us, "Someone should be out to see you about Queen Selena soon."

The nurses left and Damien began to pace.

"Damien go wash the dirt off your face and arms," Starlene told him, "I doubt they'll let you anywhere Selena while you're covered in dirt." Damien obeyed. It was like he was on autopilot.

The rest of us took turns cleaning up. Once we looked like our usual selves again, we all sat down in the waiting room and waited.
