*Sorina*

I rushed over and knelt down next to Mason.

"No! No! No!" I cried out as I cradled his head in my lap. I bit into my wrist and held it to his lips, letting my blood trickle down his throat. "Come on! Wake up! Please wake up!"

Starlene went to get help and Selena and Damien rushed over to my side.

Damien felt Mason's wrist, trying to find signs of life.

"I can feel a very faint pulse," Damien told me. He placed a hand under Mason's nose. "He's breathing too, but barely," Damien stated.

Selena closed her eyes and focused. I knew what she was doing, she was trying to see if she could still feel his emotional aura. Then she opened her eyes and turned to me.

"His aura is fading fast, Rina," she told me, "I don't think he has much time left."

That sentence hit me like a ton of bricks. Mason was alive, which meant that he had been sincere, but he been in the fire for too long, which is what was killing him now.

I knew I had a choice to make. I could either let him go or turn him with the intention of making him my Consort.

I knew that he loved me as much as I loved him, which ended up making this an easy choice.

Mason's eyes flew open.

"Rina," he choked out.

"I'm here, Mason," I assured him.

"Mason, you don't have much time left," Damien told him, "Sorina can give you more of her blood and turn you with the intention of making you her Consort, but you have to agree to that. If you want to die, none of us would hold it against you."

"I love you, Sorina," Mason choked out, "I want to live. I want to experience life with you."

I nodded and turned my attention to the sky, preparing to make a vow in the presence of the stars.

"Let the heavens bear witness," I stated, "I, Sorina Drake, daughter of Lucian and Maricara Drake, hereby choose to give Mason Wilder the gift of vampirism with the intention of making him my Consort."

I held my still bleeding wrist to his lips.

"Drink," I told him.

He drank and I took his wrist.

"I'm sorry," I told him as I sank my fangs into his wrist. Make no mistake this was not a blood sharing ritual, since Mason was still human at this point. But in order to turn him, I had to drink his blood as well. I took a few gulps of his blood and then I removed his wrist from my lips. My fangs were out and my eyes were red with spidery veins popping out around them. His blood stained my lips and fangs. I saw the shock on his face. He had never seen me like this before. I moved my hands to his neck and tears started to fall from my eyes.
