Terminate the School

I am so ready for this, more than anything. Casey called me last night asking questions, she found my map. She fucking found it! Is that what happened yesterday? Doesn't matter because she'll be far away from the building safely. I had to explain that it's a personal endeavor, and I couldn't straight up tell her what I was doing because I am not sure if she read the Last Day of School Steps or not.

I woke up in the morning of my Last Day, smiling. I had this sudden urge in my bones that today was going to be total freedom for the rest of my life. But then, I realized that it won't be because my piece of shit father will take me out. Now what? I sit on the edge of my bed for a couple minutes before realizing what I should do. I grinned just thinking about it all, the carnage.
"I'm gonna have to kill him." I whispered to myself.

Slowly rising up from my bed, I tiptoed my way to the living room where he was passed the fuck out on the lazy boy next to an entire empty pack of beer cans next to him. He was gently snoring, and sound asleep. I chuckled to myself, before making my way towards the kitchen to open the knife drawer. I pulled out my favorite butcher knife, but it was small and mighty.

Going back into the incredibly quiet living room, I held the butcher close to my thigh incase he woke up. I went behind the lazy boy and waited a short short seconds debating whether or not I should do this. Not much waiting at all when I decided it was best to do this. I reached up and over, put the blade tightly and horizontally on his neck before gently slicing the blade across it. As the blood gushed after slicing is when he decided to wake up. His eyes were in shock, staring up at me, he tried to fight but was incredibly weak. A short minute later, he was in hell and gone from my life. I already felt so much better.
"See you in hell, asshole." I whispered in his dead ear.

Before leaving the house, I walked around the recliner to look at the carnage. It was incredible, blood was everywhere, and the carpet was stained to all hell. He died in his favourite place, in front of the TV.

I walked to my room and got my revolver. Until I realized that I used the last bullet from that last time I played Russian Roulette, but I remembered that I could use my dad's hunting rifle from his room. Why didn't I think of this before? I don't know man, but I'm so thrilled.

I found it under his bed, loaded it with all the shells, and grabbed my bag with the map and packed the bag with food and other necessities. Today was my lucky fucking day, and it's going to be messy.

I left the house with the knife, and actually walked with it in my bookbag before crossing a bridge and threw it into the water below. Getting rid of the evidence is way smarter than keeping it or sanitizing it.

Finally, I made it to the School. I hoped over the fence and soon enough was in the courtyard. I hid out there until lunch break, smoked all the cigarettes I had except one. I was so damn anxious that I couldn't help it.

Once lunch period rolled around, I casually tossed a cigarette away and walked slowly back into school with the hunting rifle close to my right ankle. I was so ready and determined that I shot out the code blue alarm right away. People started screaming, and the office assholes were trying to pick up the phone but I shot at the phone too, actually blowing off this man's hand. He was screaming and gushing blood, but I just continued to shoot away at the phones and watched them shatter as the office ladies hid under their desks. I went into the actual office itself to take them out, and some teachers and staff were in there as well. Bam! Bam! Two teachers already down, and I haven't even made it upstairs yet. Behind me was ruckus, in front of me was ruckus, in mere seconds, I had the whole building in panic as I was in the most sweet rampage. Soon enough, everyone in the office was taken right the fuck out.

I turned around, and slowly walked out of the office still locked and loaded if anyone tried running away. I saw no one, it was quiet, except for the sounds of kids whimpering silently, or shoes squeaking on the tiled floor. All these sounds were in the cafeteria, which was already my next target.

I made my way over to the side of the cafeteria, and I only saw two people. Just the two people I was ready to blow their brains out and watch splatter all over the floor, Casey's old friends Ivy, and that other blonde girl. I was more interested in taking out Ivy, because we have a clear history that I still vividly remember. I pointed the rifle to her head from a small distance, and was ready to pull the trigger on this bitch as she was shaking and crying. I grinned as I had my finger steady, until I heard an eerily familiar voice yell out to me.
"Ryan! No!" I heard the most devastated scream come from behind. I was so focused and in the moment that I turned around quickly and had my hand so ready for the trigger that I actually pulled it.

My jaw physically dropped when I realized who I shot. It was Casey! I shot her on the shoulder blade, ran over to her as I watched her drop to the ground and clutch her arm in pain. The blood was gushing as my tears began running.
"Casey.." My only single utter of words I could actually get out.
"Please don't do this." She sheds a few single tears as her hand is now covered in bright red blood on the floor. I cried so fucking hard, the last thing I ever wanted to do was this. I just wanted to take the rifle and end it all for myself for doing this, but now was not the time.

I grabbed the gun and held it up again to Ivy where she was still hiding under the chair.
"You!" I shout, and she slowly nods.
"Help Casey!" I continue to scream so she listens.
"If you don't help me I swear to God I will end this shit right now." I grumble and she shakes walking over to Casey.
We both helped Casey up from the ground, and sent her over to the emergency kit in the office since we don't have a nurse.
I walked behind Ivy, making sure she didn't try to run. I had my gun held up at all times to make sure nobody else tried to run.

I watched her closely as she cleaned the wound, and bandaged her up. I still had tears dripping down my face, but wiped them away so I could finally finish my job.
"Now, bring her outside and keep her out there safely.." I put the gun down for just a second and watched Ivy try and guide her outside, but she refused.
"No." She firmly said, and let go of Ivy's grip.
"I came here to stop you." Her eyes filled with tears again, and still looked very much in pain.
"You're better than this baby." She said, reaching out to touch my chest and I looked down at her bloody hand and pulled it away by the wrist.
"Well, I am putting my foot down." I said.
"If you stay in this building, you might get hurt again. Go now, and wait for me outside please." I say.
"I saw your sketches." She says, and my heart dropped.
"Shit." I uttered and began stretching my head again.
"Please don't act on this my love." She says crying again but tries to wipe them away quickly.
"Go." I said.
"What?" She asks.
"Go!" I scream, I see her trying not to cry.
"Where!?" She snaps.
"Get away from me." I said.
"I can't." She sobs loudly.
"You're not safe." I wiped away my tears while looking away.
"I should've left you alone in the first place." I sobbed loudly too. Even dropping my gun.
"Ryan.." She whispers with a face full of fear.
"Casey.." I whispered back.
"You are going to have a wonderful normal life without me now.. Please go so I don't have to look at your beautiful face anymore!" At this point, I can't control my feelings. As badly as I fucking needed her, I knew it was my doings that made her end up wounded and hurt. I can't do this to her anymore, and I have to finish what I started.
"Go.. Home.." My voice dropped an entire octave as it felt like my heart broke into a million pieces. All these feelings are unnatural to me. Finally, Casey slowly nodded her head and walked away out the door.
"Ryan?" Her voice cracked, and I turned to her direction.
"I love you." She said with a hurtful smile.

Our eyes lingered on each other's for quite some time, as I started smiling through my tears.
"I'll never forget you Casey Brown." I said.
"Me neither, Ryan No-Good Glantis." We shared a chuckle, before she left the building.

And that was the last time I saw her. My plan of 'terminate the school' wasn't exactly a success. The cops found all the evidence, plus my dad's body less than twenty-four hours after all this has taken place. And the truth is when Casey left, part of me also did. It's strange to think about, but I never thought I'd ever want a girlfriend. Turns out, I knew I needed Casey. Truth actually is, I still do need her. The same cop that gave me the nickname No-Good Glantis was the one that cuffed me again and sent me off. Guess what? I got life in fucking prison for murder of my father, and the twelve deaths I caused at the school. I looked into the files, and saw that Casey's parents were the ones that pressed charges against me shooting her accidentally, not Casey. How I feel about that? I don't know.

It's been nearly a year since all this has happened now. All of it is clear in my head. I will never, and I mean never forget Casey Brown. She was my first and only love, and that's how I want to keep it when I finally die.

I've also learned something else. The bullet remains is for them to decide where they want to make their final stand. I made my final stand, like a man should.
