Dahlia stood on the very top of the building. The tesseracts portal was going strong and above them the Chitauri army was still coming strong. The scepter was in Natasha's hand and she approached it slowly.

"Tony, you got the missile?" Rogers said into the earpiece.

"On my way back to you now." They all heard through the earpiece.

Dahlia let out a breath of air as she looked down at the city. It was where a majority of the Avengers were now. She could just make out Hulks scream from several blocks down.

Loki stood several feet away from her. He did not know what to say to her, he did not know how to comfort her. He did not know of how he would answer for his crimes.

"D, I need you here now. We got some of those assholes coming our way." Natasha yelled. She couldn't leave her mark, she had to wait until the nuke was thrown through it.

Dahlia moved immediately at Natasha's words, grabbing an arrow from her back and loading her bow. At the first sign of the alien terrorist, the arrow was shot straight through its head.

The lost Princess grabbed one of the long blades that were strapped onto her thighs. Then she grabbed the other and handed it to Loki.

He only looked at her; wondering where the sweet Princess he once knew had gone.

Dahlia knew this, of course. She saw it in the way he looked at her. "A lot has changed."

"Indeed it has." Loki said.

And then they fought.

Side by side, the two lovers fought the very army Loki had brought to conquer the human race. They used their blades to kill every single one that attempted to kill them.

They guarded Natasha and the doctor, making sure that not a single one got close enough to foil their plans.

They protected each other. Loki did his best to make sure that none got close enough to the Elf he loved, and she in return made sure that none got close to him.

"Alright guys." Tony's voice sounded through the earpiece. The sound of him flying by caused Dahlia to look up at him for only a moment. But it was enough of a pause for the Chitauri to get an upper hand, and her middle was pierced by a piece of alien technology.

It was in that same moment, Tony disappeared into the wormhole.

Dahlia's knees gave out and the new agent fell onto them. Her blood, clear as the day she was tested on, soaked through her uniform and spilled onto the floor.

Then they heard an explosion from above them, and all the Chitauri fell to the ground.

"Close the portal." They beard Steve on the earpiece. "Close it now."

The lost Princess looked towards her lover. "Loki."

At the sound of her voice, he turned to look at her. His eyes widened at the sight of her on her knees. "Dahlia." He said.

Loki was immediately by her side, his arm around her body. He looked down in horror at the wound that was leaking blood. His stomach was in knots as his biggest fear played out in front of him.

It was then that Natasha noticed her best friend on the ground.

"No." Natasha shook her head. "No!" The Black Widow dropped to her knees next to Dahlia. Her hands set on her cheeks. "It's okay, it's okay."

Dahlia smiled at her sister, through the immense amount of pain that had taken over her body. "We did it."

Natasha was crying. "We did it. You did it."

"I think... I think I need to rest now." Dahlia told them both.

"No," Loki shook his head. "No."

Dahlia looked at him. "Forgive yourself for this. Promise me."

The door to the roof bursted open as Captain American and Clint Barton walked through. While Steve paused, Clint ran.

Tears were already slipping from his eyes when he got to his near daughter. "Dahlia." He said.

"Clint." She smiled at him, then she mumbled words that caused his heart to break.

Interrupting their conversation, Thor flew by them to catch the falling body that fell from the wormhole. In a moments time, Thor laid Tony's body in front of them.

Dahlia looked them at him and realized his sacrifice. She moved, very painfully, pulling her body away from the three that surrounded her.

When she finally collapsed next to Tony Stark's body, her heart broke. Even experiencing the most painful thing she had ever felt, she could only think of him and his dying body.

"Dahlia." Natasha knew what she was doing. "It will kill you."

The lost Princess did not look up as she set her hand over his forehead. Her eyes drifted closed as she focused, and she fought as hard as she could to bring life back into the Iron Man.

When Tony Stark breathed again, Dahlia took her last.
