A Change of Heart(Dramione)

The Little Package

The brown paper falls away from the little package. I open the package and inside is a little letter and a ring. I quickly open the cream colored paper. I read the words as fast as I can. I gasp. I can't believe it. I'm head girl! The ring is a sign of me being head girl. It is very intricate with a HG in the middle and red and gold stones on the sides. The metal encasing the jewels is very ornate. I squeal with excitement and put it on my finger. It fits perfectly. I smile. I hear footsteps and Ginny appears in the girls dormintory. "McGonagall would like to have a word with you." She says.
"Okay. Thanks Gin." I get up and quickly hide my package and letter under my pillow. I hide my ring as I walk past her. I run down the stairs and run through the halls to get to McGonnagall's office. I finally get there and she's waiting at the door for me.
"I have been expecting you, Hermoine. I see you have already have your ring on." She gives me a warm smile. She walks into her office and I follow. She sits down at the old worn desk.
"Hermoine we chose you for head girl before you even came to this school. We could see that you were destined to be a smart and kind witch."
"Thank you professor."
"Mr.Jasper Jace will be the head boy. He should be here soon." As if on cue, a tall blond boy ran into the room.
"I'm sorry professor. The staircases... I forgot they changed." I suppress a laugh. I notice a ring exactly like mine but with silver and blue stones and his must say HB in the middle. He must be a Ravenclaw.
"Well sit down boy." He takes a seat next to me. "Now you two both know that you are head boy and girl. Your duties will be to check on the student in all four houses. Miss Granger, You will check upon Ravenclaw and Slytherin. As for Mister Jace, you will check upon Huflepuff and Gryffindor. You might be asking why you don't check on your own houses. I have done this to prevent you from letting your houses get away with things. I doubt you would do this but just in case. You will both share a dormitory and you will live there starting tomorrow."
"Thanks Professor." I say will a small grin. I start to head to the common room when Jasper stops me.
"Congratulations. Hermoine, right?" I nod. "I'm Jasper." He finishes.
"You too Jasper. Bye." I say. I walk off towards the dormitory. I get there quickly.
"Password?" The fat lady asks.
"Petrificus." I answer.
"You may enter." the painting swings forward showing the common room. Seamus and a few others are scattered around the common room. I rush up to the common room to find Ginny sitting on my bed.
"Hermione, would you like to explain to me what this is from?" She holds up the little package. Relief wells up inside of me. She didn't find the letter. "Come on Hermione I'm your best friend! You can trust me!" I take a deep breath.
"Okay. I'm head girl!" I say excitedly.
"Congratulations! Can I see the ring?" I nod and slip it off my finger. She nods in awe. "It's beautiful!" She explains. She hands me the ring and I slip it back on my finger.
"Since I'm Head Girl, I will get my own common room so we won't get to share one." I say sadly.
"Well I will be able to visit it right?"
"Of course. I'm going to bed now." I say with a laugh.
"Same." Ginny hops in bed. I run to the bathroom and put my pajamas on. I run out of the bathroom and jump onto my bed. Ginny laughs. A couple other girls walk in.
"Night Gin."
"Night Mione." Our conversation stops at that.
