Chapter Fourteen

Deceit's P.O.V.

I stood at the top of the stairs, watching them set up.

Are they seriously making a video right now??

Then I understood as they reviewed their plan. I hope this works, for their sake.....

Even so..... Thomas will be in trouble.... I have to warn V about what's coming.....

Why do I always screw everything up?

Third person P.O.V.

Thomas set up all of the cameras, and they were all standing in their spots, when Virgil felt a presence in his room.

" I'll....... I'll be right back, guys "

He left without letting anyone ask questions - cough, cough, Logan, cough - and appeared in his room. He looked around suspiciously at the empty room, and was about to leave, when he noticed something different.

On his nightstand there was a small white envelope. He picked it up and tore it open. He pulled out a folded slip of paper. He was about to read it, when he felt Thomas summoning him. He stuffed it in his pocket, and popped up in his usual spot at the stairs.

" Sorry, but we're ready to start, " Thomas said.

" it's cool, let's do this. " Virgil answered.

The cameras weren't actually on, but Pride didn't know that, and as long as he didn't, this might work.....

" What is up everybody? "

So, they proceeded to talk as if they were recording, until Thomas summoned Pride.

" what up, peoples, I can't believe you didn't summon me sooner! You can't make a good video without me. "

" Oh, look it's........ Pride? " Patton said timidly.

" of course, how could I not show up? "

" Okay, well we needed to talk about how you are hurting thomas. " Logan started simply - just because he isn't a theatre geek, didn't mean he's a bad actor, he's part of thomas, for crying out loud-

" I'm sorry, what? "

" Yeah, you being who you've become is ruining Thomas as a person. " Virgil added.

" but I'm better this way! No more silly insecurities to get in the way of being the best I can be! "

" but it's changing me in the process! "

Pride looked down at his feet.

" I'm not doing anything to help...... This just hurts you more. I.... I-I'm sorry, Thomas I didn't mean to. "

Virgil couldn't get the feeling that he was forgetting something important, when he remembered the letter in his pocket. He had a nagging feeling that he should have read it earlier, so he pulled it out as Pride kept on talking.

Virgil,

              I'm sorry. There is something you have to know. As soon as Roman's original being is restored, Thomas will take on the full effect of paranoia. I'm not sure if you can stop it, but it will corrupt him. Be careful. Be safe.

Virgil looked up suddenly to see a crying Roman, back to his old, normal self.

His eyes widened as he looked over at Thomas and put the paper back in his pocket.

" Thomas..... "

He looked over at Virgil.

" you didn't.... " he whispered.
