A Change Of Sides

Chapter Twelve

Patton's P.O.V.

I looked back and forth between Thomas and Virgil as i dropped my smile.

" What happened with Logan and Roman? "

They stared back for a minute before filling me in on what had happened. Well, what was needed for the moment, anyways. Something told me there would be a longer...... Discussion once everything was back to normal. I started tearing up once they finished explaining.

They were hurt, and they thought they needed to change to be better. Just like i did... If i had been where, and who, I needed to be..... I could have helped, but ..... I wasn't.

I looked up at them with determination in my eyes as I stood up.

" We have to help them. "

Thomas nodded and looked over at Virgil.

" The only thing we have to figure out is.... Who first? " Virgil wonder aloud.

" Well..... I think Logan would be helpful in this situation. Patton? "

" Yeah, I think that would be a good idea. "

" Alright, then let's go. "

We walked down towards Logan's room, and Thomas knocked on the door. When it opened, I gasped and bit my lip at the sight to keep from tearing up again.

" Logan.... " I whispered.

" Greetings once again, Thomas, " he turned to look at me and Virgil, " salutations, " he nodded at us. " I have finished my work, and I am sensing that you wish to speak with me. Won't you come in? "

We all stepped inside his room. The air seemed...... Stale? Emotionless.... The room had a gray tint to it. We all sat down and I looked at him sadly.

" Logan.... " Thomas obviously wasn't sure how to start, so Virgil took over.

" We need you back. The real you. Not..... Knowledge, we need logic. "

" But now I can be of more use. Why would I wish to turn back, if I now have as much knowledge as possible? "

" How can we have logic without logic? How can we think logically if feelings aren't a part of it? If everyone was just emotionless robots, then nothing would ever be fun. Nothing would ever have meaning or purpose. " I could see his eyes flicker between his normal eyes, and his... new eyes.... He has to be close to going back to normal, right?

" So..... I am ...... Of more help to you, Thomas, how I was..... not how I am now? "

" Exactly! "

" Well, then.... Maybe I do wish to be back to normal.... It is pretty..... Boring.... feeling nothing.... "

I smiled brightly at him, " then we have to go help Roman! "

" Wait.... Roman? What is wrong with Roman? "

" it's a long story that can wait for another time, but we have to get him back to normal, and fast. " Virgil answered.

Logan nodded briefly. " Now how do I get ba- "

he cried out and doubled over, falling to his knees. I rushed to his side, as did the others. After a minute or two he sat up. The tears finally spilled out of my eyes as he sat up, back to normal. I threw my arms around him, he was stiff at first, but returned the embrace after a few seconds. Once I let go, and we stood up, Thomas hugged him as well. Logan seemed surprised at the gesture, but returned it all the same.

" I'm glad to have ya back, Lo. " Virgil said, nudging him gently with his elbow. 

" So. Roman? "

We all nodded in agreement and headed towards his door. When we got there, Logan grimaced at the word pride that was engraved on his door. He knocked, and Roman answered quickly. The looked back and forth between us all.

" Uhm.... Can I help you? I'm a tad busy. "

" Roman, you must revert back to your old self. This cannot be hurting Thomas more. You left him with only one creativity. The bad one. And added an unhealthy amount of pride to his personality. Do you know what something like this could do to him? " Logan stated.

Even if we three did the same thing....

" hmmmm..... Don't know, don't care, tata. " and he shut the door on Logan's face.

Virgil looked at each of us in a panicked manner.

Something tells me this isn't gonna be as easy as the rest of us were.....

" Now what are we gonna do? "

" I'm not sure... " Thomas replied, " I'm not sure. "
