Chapter Seventeen

Quick A/N - I'm so so so sorry for how long this took. School and life are just ugh, and I feel terrible for it, but you guys didnt come to hear me complain, so here's the chapter!

Patton's P.O.V.

I dialed Emile's number as quickly as possible. Virgil is right, he'd want to be here.

No answer... he always answers his phone?

There must have been a worried expression on my face, because Remy said, " dont worry, babes, he's still at work, wont get out of his session for another half an hour. Here, I'll leave him a text. "

I breathed a sigh of relief as he typed away at his phone.

" there, " he said, " I told him it was urgent and stuff like that, but we can give him the details when he gets here. "

" Alright.... " I looked over at Thomas, worried. He had a pained expression on his face, even as he slept. I hope whatever the guys are doing gets done fast....

" I hope Virgil is right, whatever he's doing. "

Virgil's P.O.V.

We sunk down and rose up again.... in the dark sides' hallway.

" what are we doing here? This is how this all started! "

Roman sounded like he was freaking  out. I turned to him. " I gotta pay someone a visit.... and I'm pretty sure I know who by now, but I cant tell for sure... "

" will you explain what is going on? "

" yes, you have not explained your plan. You have left us in figurative darkness. "

I sighed. Not sure if it's a good idea to tell them yet. " you'll find out, but here is not the place. " Roman huffed, but Logan nodded understandingly.

We slowly walked through the dark hallway. We stopped once again in front of the black and yellow door. I have been here too many times recently...

I took a few deep breaths before knocking on the door.

It swung open pretty quickly. " What do you want? "

" what do we want Virge? " Roman whispered.

" I know it was you, it had to be you. "

" I have no idea what you're talking about. " he was lying. I knew it. He looked extremely nervous, and he refused to meet my eyes.

" Admit it! It was you! "

" shh! " he whispered frantically. He glared at the floor for a few seconds, knowing he had no choice now but to come clean. He waved us inside, and I followed him, making sure the others did as well.

As soon as he shut the door behind us, he let go of his normal hauty aura, and slumped into his chair at his table. I raised an eyebrow at him, waiting for him to speak.

He sighed. " why do you have to be so difficult? "

" why do you act like the bad guy when you're not? "

His face paled. " don't know what you're taking about. "

" Deceit. "

" ugh, fine. " he leaned his head back staring at the ceiling.

" Virgil, will you please clue us in as to what's going on here? " Logan asked.

" Me and Deceit used to be friends before I became a light side. When I left the dark sides, things changed. "

" Virge, I never meant for things to go that way, but when you left, it upset everyone. I became the villain because that's who I was portrayed as. That's who everyone believed that I was, so what choice do I have? Besides, the others would skin me alive if they thought I was 'trying to abandon them.' "

I went and sat down next to him. " Trust me I know the feeling. You think I was accepted right away? It took a while before I wasn't seen as the bad guy. I thought I had to play the part, act tough like I didn't care about being hated. It's not fun, and no one should have to play the bad guy, especially if it's a roll you're not. "

I looked over to see Roman and Logan looking slightly ashamed of themselves.

" it's not your fault, it was my own. " I turned back to Deceit. " we're both just extremely stubborn. " we both laughed.

" that is true. "

" Deceit, you dont have to be the villain, " we looked up at Roman in surprise.

" Indeed. " our heads turned to Logan. " I apologize for our immediate misjudgment of you. "

" It's.....It's fine... "

" No, it isn't, " Roman said, " but we will make it right. You may be a dark side, but that doesn't mean you cant be part of the team. "

I looked back at him. " what do you say, Dee? "

" Alright. " he smiled a genuine smile.
