Tw: mentions of past abuse and attempted murder, major fourth wall breakage, fluff?

Virgil's POV

Virgil had finished changing his bandages before returning to the bed. As soon as he sat on the soft surface he felt his boyfriend's arms wrapping around his waist. "I was only gone for a minute."

"Mhm, you warm." Patton mumbled into Virgil's back.

"Come on Patton, I need to change your bandages." Virgil pulled Patton into his lap, eliciting a whine from the small boy. As soon as Patton was securely in Virgil's lap he clung to Virgil's jacket.

Virgil pried Patton away so that he could change the old bandages. "Nooooo! Warm!" Patton clung to Virgil, trying to nuzzle himself back into the dark fabric. Virgil managed to change the dirty bandages before Patton latched back on to him. Virgil giggled softly at Patton's antics.

A knock came at the door. "Patton, you're gonna have to let go, I need to stand up." Patton just let out a whine and clung tighter. "Fine, if that's how this is going to be." Virgil stood up, a small squeak escaping from the smaller boy. Virgil supported Patton with one arm as he made his way over to the door. He opened it to reveal a woman in her twenties. "Cassie?" Cassie enveloped the two in her arms.

"Virgy, it's been so long!" Cassie stepped back, holding them at arm length. "Who's this adorable little bean!" Cassie booped Patton's nose causing him to snuggle his face deeper into Virgil's chest. Cassie melted. "Can I steal him?"

Virgil laughed. "This is Patton, he's my boyfriend, and no, he's mine."

"Soooo, where's Logan, and who is this 'Roman' that he's sharing his room with?"

"Roman is Logan's boyfriend. They're probably in my room." Virgil grabbed Patton's glasses before heading towards the other room.

"LOGAN'S GOT A BOYFRIEND!" Cassie yelled after them.

"You weren't this surprised when I said that Patton was my boyfriend."

"Patton is a smol ball of fluff that is impossible not to love!" Virgil rolled his eyes at Cassie, but smiled down at the dozing Patton all the same. Virgil opened the door to see Logan, fast asleep on the desk, with his glasses digging into the bridge of his nose, papers scattered under his head and a pen head loosely in one hand. Roman was cuddled into Logan's back, his arms wrapped around the intellectual's waist. Cassie squealed as Virgil headed to the bathroom. He filled a cup of water and drank it as he headed back out. Once he got to the sleeping couple Virgil dumped the rest on Roman's head.

Roman bolted up. "Who dare assault me while I am slumbering!" Roman looked around before finding Virgil holding an empty cup (and a adorable sleeping Patton). "You shadowy fiend! If you want a fight then I'll give you one but please refrain from attacking me as I sleep!"

"Ro- Roman we have a g-guest." Virgil stuttered thru his laughter.

Roman looked over to Cassie, raising an eyebrow. "And who exactly is our feminine visitor?"

"Cassie Morgenstern, Logan's sister from another mister, if you know what I mean, or you might know me from Wackos Weekly."

"Speaking of your channel what are you doing for this week's episode?" Virgil cut in, taking a seat on Patton's open bed.

"I debated on doing the person who broke in here. It was apparently a mobster, gang leader, drug dealer person who goes by the name Deceit."

"Debated? What did you end up going with?"

"It's a real wacky one. A rainbow pirate ship flew thru a thrift store called 'The Fourth Wall' and a large group of boys, girls, and non-binary individuals came out. They broke thru the wall of a nearby apartment building into the house of Dominic something or other. The mob took him back to their ship, leaving all the damage that they had done temporarily repaired by rainbow ducktape. Eyewitnesses said that they heard the crowd yelling things like 'save the smol bean!' And 'no-one hurts my children and gets away with it!' It's not the only time that this has happened though. Earlier this month Dr. Namaken, you know Dr. Namaken right? Well he was missing from his cell with the only evidence of any escape being one of the walls crapily patched up with flex tape and glitter glue. The craziest thing is the wall that was broken didn't lead out of the compound and none of the other walls were broken down." Virgil's eyes widened when Cassie said the name of the first person kidnapped.

"What was the first victim's last name?"

"I can't remember, though I do know that he had a pretty sizable criminal record for abuse and even attempted murder. Why?"

"Well, judging from what you told me it's probably Dominic Abuso. He was Patton's abusive boyfriend. He also tried to kill me... So yeah."

"That explains the bandages."

"How can you-" Virgil looked down. "I am not wearing a shirt. Got it."

"Roman, why is my back wet?" A groggy voice came from the bed.

"It's not my fault! Virgil thought it would be fun to wake me up by splashing me with water!" Roman was quick to defend himself.

Logan looked over at Virgil and Patton. "Is there a reason why?"

"Why what? Why Patton is being a sleepy koala or why I soaked Roman?"

Logan thought for a moment before responding. "Why did you feel the need to use water to wake Roman?"

"Cassie's here and you two were sleeping in my bed."

"Cassie?" Logan finally noticed the young woman who was present. "Ah, you decided to pay one of your infrequent visits." A small smile graced Logan's face.

"Yep, I have finally graced you with my presence." Cassie curtsied before bursting into a fit of giggles. "So- So what's all this about?" Cassie motioned to the mess of papers that had been acting as Logan's pillow.

"Oh!" Logan adjusted his glasses, an angry red mark becoming apparent where his glasses had been digging into his fragile flesh. "This is a plan that I've been concocting to convince my parents to cancel the engagement and allow me to court Roman." Logan ruffled thru the papers. "Step one: present the pros and cons of a relationship with in reference to the good of the company and, or family. Step two-"

Roman cut Logan off. "How about I just invite you all on a VIP tour of my parents studio and we work from there. I mean what's the worst that could happen?"

"You don't want to know." Virgil smiled at the uneasy look he had brought to Roman's face.
