Tw: negative thoughts, separation issues, angst, self deprecating thoughts (honestly this one is just implied by now), Remus in a dress, mentions of bad/abusive teacher (Ms. Wreed)
Remus's POV
After the Ms. Wreed incident the mindscape started to once again shift. Remus and his brother no longer shared a room. His new room was at the end of the hall, farthest away from the control center. This confused Remus. All he wanted to do was give Thomas the unique ideas. They were pushing him back and duke didn't like that. It reminded them too much of how it was before. No-one listening, no-one caring, NO-ONE SEEING THE PAIN HE WAS IN! But Remus wasn't going to lose control. Here was different. He was loved and listened to. If he lost control he'd lose it all. He'd lose Roman's trust.
That changed when the wall appeared. Remus woke up one day to find a wall between his room and the control room. 'Did I do something wrong?' Remus wandered father down the hall, somehow finding himself at the end of the 'characters hall'.
"Do you how do?" Remus flipped around, finding a character standing in one of the doorways. "My name is Emile Pancini. Are you new here in the mindscape? I haven't seen you around here before." He had a cardigan, a pastel tie, and glasses. He was holding a notepad with some random cartoon doodled in the corner.
"Of course not! I'm just a side, and sides stay in the control room." Emile stood back looking at him with a doubtful gaze. "Speaking of that, I better get back. My brother will be missing me!" Remus shifted awkwardly for a moment before bolting down the hall towards the control room. At the door he had a wonderful idea. He summoned a custom air horn, that would yell random, obscene things, and quietly snuck into the control room.
'They must be worried sick! I've been gone for like, half the day.' Remus's face fell as he heard the casual banter that was the norm for them. 'W-Well they probably think I'm working in the imagination...... But I never go without telling Roman. Roman MUST be at least a little bit worried! Yea! He's just telling them I'm in the imagination as to not worry them.' Remus's hopes were obliterated by his brother's voice.
"-With the duke! Half the time it's just smile and nod while he prattles away like some three year old."
'He-He doesn't even care I'm gone.......'
A voice chimed out in Remus's mind, one that had stayed quiet since he had met Roman in the imagination. 'THEY DON'T CARE you're gone. They WANT you gone. They're shutting you out. They're pushing you back! They don't care about you! They HATE you! THEY'LL LEAVE YOU IN THE DARK! I WON'T GO BACK INTO THE DARK!' Remus's vision faded to black as he was pushed to the back of his own mind.
Roman's POV
Roman felt something off from the moment he woke up. He tried to shrug it off but as he left his room the feeling only grew. He felt empty. Well empty might not be the best word. He felt like a piece of himself had been taken away, leaving him only a fraction of what he used to be.
Roman made his way to the control room, pushing through the horrible feeling. "Hello Morality! How are you doing this fine day!"
"I'm great kiddo! How are you doing?" The bubbly side was sitting on the sidelines as logic helped Thomas get ready for school.
"Superb as always!" Roman couldn't help looking around for the Remus. Deciet was chilling in his corner but his brother's corner was empty. "Say M, do you know where duke is?"
"I haven't seen him all day. I thought he was just taking a break in the imagination." Morality looked pretty worried at the news of Roman's brother's disappearance.
