Tw: death, murder, talk of death and murder, Roman and the duke acting like psychopaths, threatening, slight gore (there's murder what were you expecting)

Flashback Remus's POV

Remus perched on the tree branch, watching Prince fight, and waiting for the right moment. The dragon witch hovered closer to him and he took his chance, totally ignoring Duke screaming at him not to. Remus jumped onto the dragon witch, giving a battle cry as he drove his newly found weapon into the top of their scaly spine. The beast collapsed to the ground, bringing Remus with them.

"DUKE!" Remus laid where the creature had fallen, breathless from the harsh drop. "Oh my gosh are you ok?!" Remus closed his eyes, but that only made him more aware of the pain in the back of his head. When he opened his eyes he was met with three different copies of Prince sanding over him.

"When did you learn to clone yourself?" At this all three Princes' eyes widened.

"That fall must have been pretty bad! We need to get you medical attention imminently!" The Princes ran their hands through their hair, pacing around nervously.

'No need. I'll take care of it.' Remus finally let duke take control. "This is what I get for letting you out to play."

Roman's POV

Roman rushed to the fallen dragon witch, watching as it disappeared into a shower of lights. "DUKE!" As the lights cleared he saw his newest companion laying stunned on the ground. "Oh my gosh are you ok?!"

Duke just gave him a dazed look before answering. "When did you learn to clone yourself?" Roman realised that he had probably got a concussion on the way down.

"That fall must have been pretty bad! We need to get you medical attention imminently!" Roman started pacing around nervously. He didn't know how to treat someone.

'Oh no! He's gonna get brain damage because I don't know how to treat him properly!'

Roman stopped his pacing when he heard heard Duke mutter. "This is what I get for letting you out to play." He whipped around to see duke but the other's demeanor had completely changed.  Instead of the carefree child that Roman had observed when they first met, the Duke's posture portrayed something more deadly. "It's rude to stare." Roman just blinked, astonished by the complete transformation of the young man who had been gushing over a 'fantasy' creature just minutes ago. "You're lucky Remus likes you or you would be dead where you stand."

"W-what?" Roman was taken back by his even tone.

"I've killed children for doing less." 'Duke' calmly picked up the dragon witch's tattered cloak and wrapped it around his head, barely wincing when he pulled it tight, even though Roman could see the blood on his hands. "Follow me." 'Duke' got up and started walking into the woods. When he noticed that Roman wasn't following he turned back with a sigh. "I said to follow me. Don't make me take drastic actions Prince."

Roman gave him an unbelieving glance. "You threaten to murder me and expect me to follow you?!" 'Duke' opened his to speak only to be cut off by a high pitched voice.

"My heroes! You save-" The damsel didn't even get to finish before she was on the ground, a hole bashed into her skull.

Roman was horrified. "You! You just!"

"She was getting on my nerves." 'Duke' swung his bloody morning star over his shoulder. "Now as I was saying, you follow me or you end up like little miss perfect. Got it." Roman just nodded vigorously, terrified of the man in front of him. "Good. I'd rather not have to explain to Remus where his newest friend went." They walked in silence for a few minutes before 'Duke' decided to break it. "You're not very talkative are you?"

"I'm sorry that I don't want my head bashed in for saying the wrong thing!" Roman didn't even try to keep the bitter sarcasm out of his voice.

"Ha! I already told you I wouldn't kill you. The worst I would do at this point is purposefully walk behind you so that you couldn't see what I was doing."

"Why would that be so bad? I've walked with people I didn't trust before and its never bothered me to be in front."

"I could be doing literally anything behind you and you'd never know it if you didn't look. I could be burning down the forest behind you and you'd never know."

Roman couldn't help but feel a sort of fellowship for the murderous man walking next to him as they exchanged friendly banter. "You're exaggerating. There's no way I wouldn't notice something like that."

"Really? I once killed a top detective's partner while he checking over my paperwork outside of the cell." Roman knew that he should be terrified or at least revolted by him but he couldn't help his curiosity. This was all probably a dream anyway. Might as well have some tall tale to tell Logan when he woke up.

"No way."

"It was his own fault for coming too close. Spent the last four years of his life trying to catch me only to make a rookie mistake that cost him his life and the catch."

"Four years? That sounds like you did something personal."

"He thought I killed his kid."

"But you didn't?"

"Nah, I just kidnapped them. Didn't want the other kid I kidnapped to get lonely."

"And why exactly were you kidnapping kids?"

"To play with Remus." There was that 'Remus' again.

"You've mentioned a Remus quite a bit but never really made clear who he is."

'Sounds like his kid or something.'

"Remus is who you were talking to."

"So you guys like share a body or something? Remus is the immature guy I fought the dragon witch with?" Roman had to stop short to avoid being decapitated.

Duke advanced forcing Roman to back up to avoid the sharp spikes on Duke's morning star. "NEVER talk about Remus like that EVER again. He is not immature or nieve. He has been spared the evils of this world and has kept a child's sense of trust, and if I EVER find that you're trying to take advantage of that or hurt him in ANY way then I promise you I will make you pay!" Roman was pinned up against a tree as he vigorously nodded.

Two things: one- what are some things that can repel demons?

And two- THERE'S A NEW EPISODE!!!! AND DECIET HAS A NAME! I wouldn't spoil it here in case you haven't had time to watch it but I just want to say that his name fits perfectly with this book!
