Tw: panic attack, solitude
Patton's POV
Patton sat on the edge of his bed, trying to convince Virgil to snuggle with him. "Come on! I want cuddles!"
"No, Pancini could catch us and I for one don't want to have to sit thru 'that' lecture again." Patton gave his boyfriend a confused look. "One time Pancini caught me and Logan sleeping in the same bed, because I had had a really exhausting panic attack the night before, and he gave us this hour long lecture on how getting too engrossed in a romantic relationship at such a young age could leave you with all these bad consequences like trust issues or dependency issues if, or as he said when, you break up with eachother. He only stopped when we told him it was just because I had a panic attack."
'Oof, that must have been awkward.' Patton saw that there was little chance he would win this but he wasn't going to back down without a fight. He pulled his best kicked puppy face as he laid down.
"I guess your right....." Patton could see Virgil breaking from the corner of his eye.
"Stop making me feel guilty! ......fine." Patton felt a soft warmth surrounding him. He looked over his shoulder hoping to see his boyfriend, but was disappointed to see him sitting on his own bed. "I'm not snuggling you tonight."
Patton grabbed the soft fabric, cuddling into the purple patched warmth. "Are you sure? You won't panic or have nightmares without it?"
Patton waited for a moment before becoming concerned from the silence. He looked up, worrying for Virgil. "As long as you're here I'll be fantastic." Virgil curled was up in his bed holding the purple and blue striped stuffed cat that Pancini had given Patton when he was injured. "This is mine now."
Patton giggled and held Virgil's jacket closer. "Mine." They both giggled over this before slowly falling asleep.
When Patton awoke he felt particularly weightless. He looked around to see one of the mirrors shining brightly in the darkness. He lunged towards it, only for it to disappear before he got there. He floated thru the darkness looking for something, anything. He wandered for hours before hearing muffled voices all around. They sounded tired, like they had just woken up. Patton listened for a couple of minutes but couldn't make it exactly what they were saying.
Time skipity scop
It had been weeks- or maybe months- well Patton couldn't tell time very well in this dark unchanging landscape, for all he knew it had only been a couple of hours, but the point was he had finally found something. A black, shiny platform floated in the middle of nowhere with a single stand on it. As Patton drew closer he could see that the stand contained a single large button. He gently pushed the button jumping a little when he heard a joyful exclamation from the more feminine muffled voice. Others quickly joined in in the jubilant cries, the platform under him shaking lightly. He pushed the button again and the happy noises increased.
Virgil's POV
When Virgil woke up he was floating. He tried to look around but the sudden movement sent his entire body rotating around. He stabilised himself feeling a bit sick as the world revolved around him.
"He-hello?" His voice was weirdly muted. "Can anyone hear me?" He faintly heard singing in the distance.
"One hundred puppies in a pen, one hundred hyper pups, pick one up, cuddle it close, ninety nine puppies in a pen. Ninety nine puppies in a pen, ninety nine hyper pups, pick one up, cuddle it close, ninety eight puppies in a pen. Ninety eight puppies in a pen, ninety eight hyper pups, pick one up, cuddle it close..." The singing continued getting louder as Virgil he got closer. The silly ditty reminded Virgil of something Patton would make up. Virgil finally saw who was singing. The young man was wearing cloths very similar to those Patton had been wearing when they first met. He was laying on a shiny black platform with a single button. Virgil drifted closer to the button. It was one of the only things decorating this blank void. He pressed the button and it glowed a dull purple. The young man looked up. "What was that?" Virgil quickly backed away from the button, apologising, but the other acted like he couldn't even hear him. "Strange...." The pastel padre headed directly for the button passing directly thru Virgil. He pressed the button making it glow a vibrant blue-white light.
Virgil clutched his chest where he had been passed thru. "Wha- how?" Virgil's breathing shortened as tears made their way down his checks.
'Can he not see me? Are we on different planes of reality? Is he just a figment of my imagination, brought about by my own loneliness getting to me? DO I EVEN EXIST?!' Virgil's thoughts came at him fast and hard causing him to curl up onto himself. He desperately gasped, trying to get air into his aching lungs, but he could feel the darkness trying to pull him in.
He suddenly felt a wave of calm wash over him, before slipping into a light sleep.
Patton's POV
It was just another boring day in the void. The voices had stopped sounding so excited when he pressed the button. He was singing a parody that he had written. "One hundred puppies in a pen, one hundred hyper pups, pick one up, cuddle it close, ninety nine puppies in a pen. Ninety nine puppies in a pen, ninety nine hyper pups, pick one up, cuddle it close-...." Patton continued singing as his thoughts drifted.
'What would having a hundred puppies on you feel like? Would it be soft like their fluffy fur or would it be tickly like their little wet boopers snoots?' He was pulled out of his thoughts by the button glowing a faint purple color.
"What was that?" Patton waited a second before deciding that he wasn't getting an answer. "Strange...." Patton approached the button, pressing it experimentally to see what happened. It glowed its usual light blue before turning off. Patton lingered by the button before he noticed it letting off an almost unnoticeable purple light. The light grew, shining brightly from not only the button but the whole stand. The violet hue of the light was becoming darker as it got more intense. Patton stumbled back, cowering a little before his curiosity managed to overpowered his fear. He cautiously approached the brightly glowing pillar, baping the button. Light blue mixed into the almost black, purple light. After a few seconds the button suddenly stopped glowing and Patton was left alone in the darkness.
Oof I haven't posted all year have I?
