Let's Go To The Mall, Today

When we got to the mall, we went to the food court and ordered one strawberry malt and one mint chocolate malt from Dairy Queen. We have always done that since we can never decide who should get what, so we get both and share them.

We sat down across from each other at our normal booth in the far back corrner of the food court and just started to talk about how our week has been.

To me, it felt like nothing has changed, even though I'm now living with five incredibly famous people.

After about half an hour, three girls around the age of fifteen walked up to me and Jake.

"Hi, are you Brittany Tom?" one of them asked.

"Yes," I said. "Yes I am."

"And are you Jake?" another one of them asked.

Jake got a shocked look on his face, but he nodded.

"How did you know who he is?" I asked the girls.

"Well, it's all over twitter that Brittany Tom was taken away by some boy by the name of Jake during Liam's twitcam," the first one to talk said to us.

"Oh," I said. "That makes a lot of sense. New travels quick on the twittersphere."

"It really does," the one who hadn't spoken yet said.

"Can we get a picture with you?" I was asked.

"Yeah, sure," I said. I was a little confused why they would want to take a picture with me, but that's what living with One Direction does to you.

After they took pictures with me, they took some pictures with Jake (which was really weird to him), and left.

"Well, that was weird," Jake commented.

"Welcome to my life," I said and we both laughed.

"Do you really take pictures with random fans?"

"No, not really. Well, if I'm with one of the boys, then yes. But that is my first time without one of them."

"That's insane. I'm glad I'm not you. If people just recognized me off of the street and asked to take a picture with me, I would be really creeped out."

"I understand how you would find it creepy, but I'm starting to get used to it."

"But that's just crazy," Jake said and shook his head.

"I know that it is kind of crazy, but a few weeks ago the boys asked if I wanted to be in the world of One Direction or not, and I said, 'sure.' There's no backing out of it now," I told him.

"But aren't there going to be people who research your past?"

"Yeah, probably."

"What if they find out about Brett?" Jake asked and I stiffened. I could feel tears coming to my eyes.

"If people do find out, I won't deny anything. That would be like saying I was ashamed of him and I could never live with myself if I said anything of that sort." I could feel tears start to fall down my cheeks, but I didn't acknowledge that they were there.

"Britt, what if they call you horrible names like they did at school. Then you're going to lock yourself away, just like the last time someone said something bad about him. I don't want to see you go that again. It was heart breaking."

"Jake, I promise you that I'll be fine. I'm a big girl, I can deal with name calling and people insulting my family."

"Have you told them about him yet?" Jake asked.

"No," I said simply.

"Don't you think that they would rather hear it from you and not from some random chick on twitter who is jealous of you and wants to tell your secrets?"

"Yeah, probably. But how do I start that conversation with them, without them fraking out or flipping shit?"

"Just say, 'Hey, I'm a mum. Thought that you might want to know that,' and then walk away."

"That just isn't going to work."

"Why not? It sounds good to me," Jake said and I laughed.

"Do you remember what happened when I told my mum that I was preggers?"

"I thought that she was going to kill me. And I'm not even joking," Jake said with a serious face on.

"You know that I love you too much to let her kill you."

"I didn't see you get in front of me to protect me," Jake said in a joking manner.

"I had a baby inside of me. Two lives are worth more than one," I replied.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

"She wouldn't have hurt you," I said and put my hand on top of his which was resting on the table.

"But here's the thing. The guys that you're living with seem to be as protective of you as I am," Jake said, and I nodded for him to continue. "I'm just afraid that they're going to kill me in the middle of the night or kidnap me or something."

"Don't worry, their sucky kidnappers."

"What do you mean by that?" Jake asked.

"They kidnapped me at five thirty on the day that they met me."

"Why?"

"Because they, quote, 'wanted a fun way of meeting me.'"

"That is a fun way of meeting someone. Nothing say hello like a gag in the mouth a a blindfold over the eyes," Jake said and we both burst into hysterics.

After a few minutes, we calmed down.

"No, but seriously, how am I going to tell them? They might become really over protective and not let you into the house again. Or maybe they will just think that I'm a stupid slut who got pregnant at the age of fifteen."

"Brittany, you are not a slut. I'm sure that they'll understand. You can tell them whatever you want. Whatever you think is good to tell them, you tell them."

"But if I tell them the truth, they will think that I'm a slut for sure."

"You were drunk, it's not your fault for what happened."

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure," Jake said.

Jake and I spent the rest of the day hanging out at the mall. Then we went to go and see a movie at the theater that was right across from the mall.

When Jake dropped me back off at home, I had every intention of telling the boys everything, but Liam was asleep, Harry was at some club with Niall and Zayn was out with some of his friends that were in town.

I would have just told Louis, but I didn't want to have to say everything twice, so I just walked upstairs, got ready for bed, and went to sleep.
