After getting their assignments, Phoebe, Jackson, April and Reed headed down to the ER, after bidding farewell to Percy and letting him know that it was nice knowing him, after all he did get put on a case with Izzie Stevens.
Yang, a name Phoebe had overheard, raced over to a tall, stern faced man asking,
"Okay, where do you want us?"
The ER was rammed and more people were being shipped in. The large amount of people making it difficult to hear so the doctor loudly called out,
"Uh, at this point, anywhere is good."
Phoebe was about to walk away to tend to a patient when Jackson grabbed her arm, stopping her and recalling,
"At mercy west, we do zones. When it's super busy, we just give everyone a zone, a space. The nurses put a person in that space. You know it's your patient. Helps you get to them quicker."
Jackson explained the routine quickly, hoping to get the chaos that was commonly known as the ER under control, but he was quickly undermined by Yang.
"Yeah well, this is the ER. Not a school yard. We're not playing four square."
"Wait this isn't high school?" Phoebe flatly replied. "Well, you could have fooled me with that attitude." She stated staring at Cristina with a tight smile.
Ignoring the women, the attending simply stated,"I like it."
Phoebe smirked down at her shoes in victory.
"What?!" Yang replied in outrage. The attending shrugged and focused his attention on Jackson.
"It's a good idea. Let's try it. What's your name?"
"Jackson Avery." He said with a grin.
"Dr. Avery, Dr. Hunt. It's all yours. Zone away."
With a hand shake and a nod the Mercy Wester's set off to tend to patients as Hunt speedily walked out of the ER. While the Seattle Gracer's stood gawking at them in disbelief. In disbelief that they could change their systems so quickly and effortlessly. Now they really hated the Wester's. ____________
"You can't pray away the gay!"
"Man I love this place." Phoebe whispered to Jackson and Reed in passing after tending to a patient as a tall, brunette attending stormed off through the corridors.
The chaos ensued as more yelling entered the ER in the form of two very angry looking men. Phoebe and Jackson walked over, trauma gowned and ready to help the approaching paramedics, taking a chart each and skimming it while the paramedics reported.
"Frank Nusbaum, 42, multiple, mostly superficial stab wounds. Vital signs stable. His buddy's got a lacerated palm."
Yang stormed through uplifting the chart from Jackson's unsuspecting hands, thanking the paramedic, she started to tend to the patient, Frank.
