Phoebe had just ordered her third drink at the bar as Callie and Arizona resumed complaining about their living situation."How long do we have to wait before telling them to move out? I mean they're married, surely they should have gotten their own place before the wedding." Arizona ranted, tired of not having her own privacy.
"What about your apartment? There are spare rooms there, right?" Callie asked turning to Phoebe.
Phoebe took a sip before nodding, "yeah, well one of my roommates moved out and the other one, well, died. So yeah, I have spare rooms."
Callie and Arizona shared awkward glances, as they tried to change the subject Dr Bailey tuned in.
"Wait you're living on your own? Why don't you move in with Grey, she's housing all the residents, no?" Bailey asked confused as she took a sip.
"I practically am living there at the minute anyway." Phoebe shrugged. "Always staying in Jackson's or Lexie's rooms." She carried on thoughtlessly.
The attendings' eyebrows rose as did their intrigue.
"Jackson, really?" Arizona asked, excited by the new information and hopefully blossoming romance.Phoebe coughed slightly on her drink as she realised who she was speaking to. She quickly realised she hadn't yet mentioned the new evolution of her relationship to Callie, or Arizona.
"Yeah?" She replied in a high pitched, uncertain tone.
"Tell us more." Callie demanded.
"Oh god." Phoebe laughed. "So-"
"Nope, I don't want to hear it." Bailey exclaimed as she jumped down from her stool. She grabbed her drink before moving to find some other people to speak to.
The other attendings shrugged before turning their attention back to Phoebe. "As you were saying." Arizona prompted.
"So he told me he liked me, well loved me, the morning before the shooting. But obviously nothing happened, it was all sort of up in the air after that. We didn't really speak to each other, he moved out of the apartment, he did ask me to go as well but I just wasn't ready to leave it yet. And then at Yang and Hunt's wedding we got to talking and said that our feelings hadn't changed and we liked each other. So we kissed and have been since then. We are just kind of seeing where it goes." Phoebe explained to her wide-eyed audience.
"But your staying in his room every night?" Callie asked.
"Pretty much." Phoebe nodded.
"But you're not dating?" Arizona asked inquisitively.
"Um no, he's not my boyfriend."
"Have you had sex?" Callie asked excitedly.
"No." Phoebe replied, pulling groans and looks of disappointment from both attendings.
"We've done other... things, we just haven't gone all the way yet. Feels like a lot of pressure, you know, with years of friendship on the line." Phoebe defended.
