The apartment that housed the three residents was in complete disarray. The grumbling of the coffee machine echoed throughout the halls, overlapping the deep snores coming from the closed bedroom door. The strong, distinct scent of coffee wafted throughout the rooms.

Phoebe was leant against the counter, eyes drooped closed as she breathed in the scent, hoping that it would help just a little bit. She poured two mugfuls and took frequent sips from her own large mug as she squinted at the midday sunlight invading her living room.

With a bit more life filling her body, or caffeine in her veins, she made her way towards the snoring. After nearly tripping over a few pairs of shoes, Phoebe forcefully pushed open the bedroom door and pulled open the blinds. The sunlight rained in, waking up the sleeping man eliciting a groan from his lips.

"What the hell?" The half asleep man grumbled in a deep voice.

"Charlie, get up. I've let you sleep, now get up." Phoebe insisted as Charles simply turned over, ignoring the brunette.
"You said we'd clean the apartment today." Phoebe reminded.

She had been begging her roommates for a cleaning day, not wanting to take on the responsibility alone. Being surgical residents it was hard for them to make time for normal things like cleaning, shopping, even sleeping. Their dedication to the hospital meant that their home needed a bit of work. Trying to navigate the halls in the dark was practically a death wish and they were all tired of it. With Jackson having a shift, it was up to Phoebe and Charles to clean and they'd made a plan where they could get a suitable amount of sleep and then spend the rest of their day off being responsible adults. Something Charles seemed to have an issue with.

"Lets just leave it. It's not even that bad. I think you're being a bit over dramatic." Charles sleepily mumbled.

"Over dramatic?" Phoebe questioned in disbelief. "I crashed on the sofa the other day and I woke up to pile of your dirty underwear! What they are doing in the living room? Actually- I don't even want to know. Just... it's not okay!" She stressed as she grabbed Charles foot and began to pull him out of the bed. "Ethan's coming over this week and I don't want him to think I'm a slob."

"He should know the tru- Hey what are you- you are freakishly strong!" Charles yelled just before his body met the floor.

After a couple more cups of coffee the residents had gotten to work cleaning and tidying their apartment. There was an unusual amount of underwear in their living area which they would occasionally shriek at and throw to one another. With frequent breaks they finally tackled the mess and decided to reward themselves with a takeaway. The pair bickered over what food to get before ultimately deciding on pizza.

While Charles was on the phone, Phoebe raced to the shower feeling gross after spending the day riffling through the guys' dirty laundry. Finishing quickly so Charles would have a turn before the food arrived, she dressed in her cosiest clothes and turned on the tv. The mindless drone of the tv was drowned out by Charles' loud singing and the ringing of her mobile. Chuckling to herself, she quickly answered the phone, on the other end was a gravelly voice she had not expected, mostly because she had never given him her number.

"Mark?" Phoebe questioned, her eyebrows furrowed despite the fact he couldn't see her face.

"Ahh March, glad you picked up. Feel like grabbing a drink?" Mark nonchalantly asked, like it was a usual occurrence.

"What?" Phoebe laughed out of surprise.
"Oh what did you run out of nurses and drug reps? Decided to move on to your exes friends?" Phoebe teased playfully.

"Hey, you were my friend first." Mark argued.

"If you mean you spoke to me first and tried to get in my pants, then yes that is correct." She laughed.

"It's a compliment." Mark reassured, Phoebe could tell from his voice that he was wearing his usual smirk. "So what do you say?"

"I don't think so Mark, sorry."

"Eh it's fine. Maybe another time right, March?" He said with a hinting lilt in his tone.

"See you tomorrow Mark." She singsonged, she hung up the phone shaking her head in amusement. That is not what she expected.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a knocking at the door, she jumped up to get the door, being carried by her hunger. She collapsed onto the floor and placed the pizza on the coffee table in front of her. Charles soon joined her, sitting cross legged on the shaggy rug, the friends put on a film while they filled their stomachs.

"I think we should mess up this room again." Charles commented.

Phoebe paused and turned to him. "Excuse me?"

"I mean Jackson has to do something, right?"
Charles explained a bit further making Phoebe let out a laugh.

"He can do it next time." She reassured Charles as she poured them each another drink.

"Aww look at our little girls night, Charlie. Pizza, wine, sweats and rom-coms." Phoebe awed nudging Charles' leg with her foot as they were now sat at opposing sides of the sofa.

"Oh don't ruin it! Why'd you have to say that?" Percy whined throwing his head back to rest on the sofa. Phoebe giggled at his response.

"So how's it going with Reed?" She inquired turning to face Charles fully, while sinking further into the sofa. Charles gave her an unimpressed look causing her to wiggle her eyebrows.

"How's what going? There is nothing going. Nothing at all." Charles dejectedly explained. He had a ridiculous crush on a girl that barely spared him a glance. Sure they were all kind of friends but Reed wasn't the type to be all mushy with her feelings, even with just friends. Phoebe wasn't her biggest fan but she'd known her for years, she thought of her kind of like the annoying younger sister that you don't really like but have to love anyway. Because she's family. None of them seemed to have an awful lot of that, so they had all become that for each other.

They were family and now with the merger, it seemed to be only getting bigger.
