A painting you painted
Adding colours of every sort
It was a painting like no other
As people far and wide saw
At first, it looked absurd, abnormal
But soon after looking at it over and over and over again
It became a norm
An image created became implemented
And if anyone thought a image couldn't destroy, the image proved them wrong
Small waists and skinny arms
Fair skin and skinny legs
Even a little bone was allowed
But for a price
A price so great that no one could imagine
Stomachs empty
Tired bodies
Fake smiles
And tired minds
Was it worth it?
Yes, because it was the norm
A norm that ate you up
Until you complied
Because it was not okay anymore
To have the pleasure of
Full stomachs
Real smiles
Healthy bodies
and happy minds

I think it's time we draw a line between our happiness and people's happiness but I know that can't be because society will always belittle you, so listen to your heart and not to people who will cause you nothing but depression.
I hope you enjoyed this short poem, and don't forget to leave a comment below of your thoughts.
Take care,
Anera
