Memphis jumped back in shock, not in horror, as the bluish black liquid enveloped my arm. She stared at me, her mouth agape and her jaw dropped. I smiled a very small smile laced with worry hoping I didn't scare her.
She just stood there looking at me, not just my arm but me. She thankfully wasn't scared or breathing heavy, she was just...shocked. "Can I touch it?" She asked suddenly.
I paused and wondered for a moment before slightly sighing and shaking my head turning back to the mirror and sink. "Not yet baby. I don't know what it is, or what it'll do. I don't know if itll act defensively or if it'll crave your touch too and wrap around you as well. And I can't lose you, or hurt you." She nodded in complete understanding as I stood at the mirror, my head down.
I felt it snake it's way down my right side, covering my body before wrapping around my waist and groin, and then covering my crotch. I took a quick breath at this, but realized that it was in fact just completely covering my body. Memphis noticed as I had no shirt on and she took a breath of awe watching it work.
"I'm so sorry baby," I said, not wanting her to panic. "I hope I don't scare you or revolt you or anything like that baby." She shook her head quickly and softly before wrapping a blanket around me and hugging me.
"No baby, you don't. It's just, this is...new, my love. It's different. Do you know if it has any powers?" She asked, her voice piquing up at the last part.
I paused for a second, thinking. "Well, in the shower was when it happened and I started to panic, but when i accepted it, I realized it doesn't hurt at all, but it did seem to make my muscles a bit tighter, as if I was stronger. I seemed much more flexible. " I said looking at her as the liquid covered my left leg and made it's way up my left side as well.
She nodded. "Maybe you and Zeke, Kai and Beckett can figure this out." She said. I nodded and we agreed that I had to go see them. As she pulled away she let the blanket drop and the liquid had covered all of my body, like a tight, yet somehow comfortable suit. It was a deep shade of dark blue, with black swirls everywhere. It very visibly sculpted my body giving me a six pack and making my arm and legs seem much more toned and muscular.
Judging from the way Memphis took a breath im assuming it made my back and butt nice and muscular too. And then it made its way up my neck. It felt as if someone had cold skinny fingers and was reaching up my neck and kept going. I gulped and found that I could still breath just as easy, so that was a relief.
It made its way up past my jaw covering the bottom half of my mouth, and then instead of pouring in my mouth, or going around it, strands of the liquid shot across my mouth still allowing me to talk but completely obstructing my mouth and now nose, from view. It made its way up further, circling my eyes before it completely covered my head, leaving just my eyes.
I looked at myself in the mirror, staring at this blue and black, muscular, toned, stranger. I took one last look at Memphis, not knowing what would happen when it covered my eyes, and through the mask told her that I loved her. She smiled and said it back, stepping behind the the door, and then it covered my eyes.
It was pitch black for a solid minute almost, but I heard everything. I could hear Memphis's breathing and her heart rate. Then slowly but surely, my vision came back and a stranger came to view. I stood looking in the mirror at the blue muscle bound man with two glowing neon blue eyes, though I saw everything clear as day.
I smiled and swore I could see the mask move slightly. I turned and looked at my girlfriend who was still mostly behind the door, though she had moved out slightly. "Baby..." I whispered softly, calling her out. "It's just me, it's Rhent. I promise. I'm still here." I said quietly to her.
She nodded and came out from behind the door, looking me in my glowing blue eyes. "Let's go introduce myself to the rest of the group shall we?" I asked her nervously yet trying to remain confident. She nodded her head and gave me a comforting smile as we walked out of the hallway.
"Look, I'll wait in the elevator and you just call me up by pressing the button so they don't totally freak." She nodded saying that sounded good and I smiled. "I love you angel." I said softly. She grinned and headed up the hatch as I went into the elevator. It was quiet but I heard all of their voices clear as day, asking where I was. She paused and said I was coming up, but i looked different and I heard Kai sigh loudly saying if I cut my hair he was gonna kick my ass.
The elevator shot up and i readied myself before the doors opened. As they did I slowly walked out and everyone in the room looked at me slack jawed, except Memphis. Zeke seemed to grow more muscular and Kai shot up his eyes going grey whilst Beckett just looked. He seemed surprisingly calm, though I guessed this was nothing new to him. Rayven was next to Memphis asking questions as the guys approached me.
Before either of them could do anything Beckett spoke up looking at me and walking forward, his long black hair brushed to the side. "Well. Rhent, seems like you've discovered your power, and, you got a nice suit to go with it." He said chuckling. Kai and Zeke just looked at him as if he was on drugs and I spoke up getting everyone's attention.
"Umm. Not quite." I said, my voice having a slightly deeper tone and echo to it. It was story time as I sat down in a chair getting ready to let everyone know what happened.
