When you were younger, your mother had abandoned you and left you in the orphanage. You have met plenty of children who have the same experience as you and become your friends. Though you had entered the orphanage earlier, you had no idea what the grown-ups were doing inside the orphanage. They pick several children and abuse them for no reason. One friend of yours who was mistreated was called Ruki. You wanted to help him by taking his place but he disagreed. The grown-ups overheard your conversation and thought that Ruki was trying to coerce you to take his place and so they hurt him again.
One day, Ruki was looking around for you but he couldn't find you. He wanted to tell you about his plan on how to escape. He had asked his friends, Yuma, Kou, and Asuza to join in with him and they agreed. He asked the three if they saw you but they only shook their heads no until the door opened to reveal you with bruises on your arms. Ruki ran to your side only to be pushed by the grown-up. "Move it livestock!"
The next few days were the same. Ruki never got to talk to you as you always came back with new bruises on your arms. One day, he never saw you ever again and assumed that you passed away. He would never hear your voice again so he clenches his fists tightly. He made up his mind to escape as soon as possible.
Ruki wasn't discreet enough so the grown-ups caught him and decided to brand him with a scar on his back. Ruki felt like he had fallen to the deepest pit of despair until Karlheinz appeared and saved him along with Yuma, Kou, and Asuza. With their new lives as vampires, he swore to complete Karlheinz's "Adam and Eve" plan. He had almost finished his task but another vampire, Kino emerged and brought him back to square one. Karlheinz instructed him to attend a ball where Kino would be present and assassinate him. "Take this." Karlheinz throws a mask at him. "It's a masquerade ball. A perfect chance no?"
Ruki answered him a yes before leaving. As soon as he arrived at the venue, he puts his mask on before entering. He glances around the sea of people, looking around for a certain grayish-black haired vampire. In the process of looking around, he had accidentally bumped into a girl. "Oops, I'm sorry!" She says. The voice felt familiar yet so foreign. Before he could say anything, the girl told him that she had to go because she had to perform. Ruki followed the path the girl had walked but he spotted Kino at the corner. He remembered what he was here for and stopped following the girl.
Ruki got close to his target, he readied his knife, holding it close to his back. "Just a little closer and it'll be over." He thinks, walking behind Kino. As soon as Ruki showed his knife, the voice of the girl blasted through the speakers as she sang a song. This made him drop his knife onto the floor as the familiarity of the voice makes him think. "Your knife dropped, good sir," Kino says as he picked up the knife and returned it to Ruki. "Uh, thanks." He says, trying to compose himself. With that, Kino gave him a nod and walked away. Ruki cursed at his failed attempt but he eventually forgot when he locked eyes with the girl.
The (Eye Color) orbs that he was so familiar with made his head hurt. "Who is she?" He clutched onto his head. When the song finished, he felt like he needed to know the answer so he followed the girl again. The moment he saw the girl, he pulled her into a hidden corner. "Ouch!" You exclaim as your back hits the wall. Ruki pulls off the masquerade mask from your face and scrutinizes your features. "Hey, what's your deal?" You ask, staring at his blue-grey eyes.
Everything came back rushing like a waterfall. He remembered everything. "(First Name)?" He asks. You look at him with a confused look. "Do I know you?" You question. He removed his mask and you remembered him. "Ruki?" You take a good look at the man standing before you. Without giving any warning, Ruki pulls you into a kiss. You gently push him away but his strength was stronger compared to yours so he wasn't bothered by it. He pulls away and you blush, flustered at his action. "Why did you do that?"
"I've missed you... I thought you died."
"Ah, I left without saying anything. I should've told you but I didn't get the chance to do so. That night, I was adopted."
He pulls you into his embrace, completely forgetting Karlheinz's task. "I missed you so much." You return the hug by wrapping your arms around him. "I could tell that you miss me from the kiss." You giggle. He uses his hand to gently caress your face before stopping at your chin. He brings you closer to him until you could feel his breath on your lips. "May I?" You blush before permitting him to do so. He reconnected your lips once again. With you in his arms again, he vowed to never let go.
