I enter the room, glad to see that everyone is already here. The guys glance at Blake questioningly, confused as to why an outsider is allowed here.
I take my seat at the head of the table and gesture for Blake, who's still standing leaning against the wall, to sit with us. He just shakes his head, trying to call Lia again.
"Lia is gone. She was supposed to meet up with Blake yesterday, but she never got there. It's been 12 hours since she was last seen." I'm cut off by furious curses resounding through the room. All of the guys see Lia as a member of the club, a sister of sorts.
"Does she have a tracker, like the one in Blake's jacket?" Key asks after I get the guys to quiet down. He's clearly thinking about finding her the same way we found Blake last year.
"Yes she does, but the signal comes from her house. That's why I went there this morning." Blake answers, shoving his hands in his pockets, frowning in worry.
"Why didn't you look for her sooner?" This time it's Knife who speaks.
"She had a fight at the Cage yesterday, I figured she was just tired. – Blake runs his hand down his face roughly – She often goes straight home after fights, so I didn't think much of it, especially when her tracker was at her house."
"Then how do we find her? Does she have her phone with her?" Key questions, already getting his laptop ready.
"I don't know! Why do you think I'm trying to call her every fucking second?!" Blake yells out, finally breaking. His girl is missing and here he is, helpless, unable to do anything to find her.
"Shit, sorry man, he didn't mean it like that. If she doesn't even have her phone with her, it's going to be hard to find her. 12 hours is a long time. She could be anywhere." My VP, Gun, reasons.
"Gun's right. Hey, what about her car?" Wrench implores.
"Her Challenger used to have a tracker, but she didn't have time to install it in Camaro." Blake explains. I nod in understanding before turning to my brothers.
"We'll ride around town and look for her car. Maybe we'll get some answers from it. Key, you'll go through the cameras, see if you can find anything." I say, getting nods from my brothers as they immediately get up from their seats and head outside.
"You should probably stay here, we'll let you know if we find her." I suggest, but Blake just shakes his head, slumping against the wall defeated.
"We'll call you if we find anything." I pat his shoulder before leaving the room. I head towards my bedroom to see my treasure and tell her what we decided, while Blake walks straight to the bar. I'm guessing he's going on his own search, despite my advice.
I find my golden girl kneeling by my bed, quietly praying. I'm not exactly a fan of the one above, but at this moment I feel like reaching out to him myself.
Michelle turns around when she hears me behind her and immediately comes up to me and wraps her arms around my waist. I gently caress her hair, pressing a firm kiss on the top of her hair. I feel her small form trembling against me, as she quietly cries into my shirt.
I take her arms off my torso and move them to my neck before picking her up, making her wrap her legs around my waist. Sitting down on the edge of my bed, I settle her on my thighs so she straddles me. I carefully let her hair loose and run my fingers through the golden tresses, holding my girl close to my chest.
"Shh, precious, we're going to find her." I try to reassure her, even though I'm not sure I believe my words myself. Lia is strong, we all know this, so for her to disappear like that and for so long means something serious must've happened to her.
I keep my girl in my lap for the next few minutes before carefully pulling her away from my chest. I cup her cheeks and tilt her head to look into her gorgeous cerulean blue eyes. "I need to leave, babygirl, but I need you to stay here, where I know you'll be safe. Key is staying here and there are prospects at the bar and the gate outside. You can go wherever you want, but please don't leave the compound, okay?"
"Okay." Michelle readily agrees. I give her a small smile and give her a kiss before she gets off my lap.
"Layla is in my room, but if she comes here, I need one of you with her at all times, got it?" I tell the prospects at the bar, getting firm nods in response, then leave the clubhouse and go on a search for my sister. Lia may not be blood related to me, but she's family. And anyone who hurts her will have me to deal with.
It's been few hours now since we started our search. And we still couldn't find Lia.
We found her car, though. It was in a ditch by the road, lying on the passenger side. Someone hit the driver's side and shoved the car off the road. Blake almost ripped the thing apart, looking for any clue where his girl had gone. And he did. He found a small syringe under the driver's seat, which clearly indicates that Lia did not disappear on her own free will.
She was taken.
And whoever took her wanted us to know about it by purposefully leaving the syringe behind for us to find.
It's been now 16 hours since Lia was last seen and I can tell Blake is on the verge of blowing up. He's been restless ever since we came back after finding Lia's car and towing it to the clubhouse. And the worst thing is that he can't even notify the cops, since it would only get Lia in trouble because of her fighting.
We're on our own.
Key is hidden in his cave, searching through the surveillance footage, trying to find where Lia was taken to. Don and Blood are looking for her on their own. Don is really good at tracking people, so if there's anyone that can find any trail, it's him.
We suspected that whoever took her could be connected to the Cage. It's suspicious that she disappeared the same night she had a fight. Blake quickly shut that idea down, saying no one knows about Lia's identity so it's impossible for someone to follow her. She would've noticed if someone was following her after the fight.
Michelle quietly cries into my chest as I keep her in my lap, trying to calm her down. She hasn't even eaten, saying Lia is probably starving too. I know for a fact that the whole situation is taking a toll on her. She's really worried about her friend and it fucking hurts to see her like this.
I have to leave her alone, though, when Don and Blood come back. We head to church to hear what they have to say. I quietly tell Michelle to go to my room and wait there for me.
"We found a few footprints around the place Lia's car was left. There was also some blood, but I have no idea who it belonged to. My guess is that Lia fought back, there were some signs of struggle few feet away from her car. I also found this, – Don places a small bracelet on the table – it was in the grass by the road."
"Do you recognize it?" I turn to Blake, who takes the small silver chain and looks at it with watery eyes.
"It's the anklet I got for her as graduation gift. Michelle has a matching one." I barely stop myself from wincing at the sound of my girl's real name. Blake doesn't seem to realize his slip up, his attention solely on the piece of jewelry in his hand.
"Michelle?" I sigh hearing Gun's question.
"Layla." Blake offhandedly answers, making the guys turn to me.
"Michelle has to hide her real name due to... certain circumstances. It's not the time to get into that now. I have to talk to Michelle about it first."
"Looks like someone is whipped." Knife jokes, breaking the tension momentarily, but before he can say anything else, a panicked scream resounds through the building.
"TANK!!!"
We jump out of our seats and run downstairs, only to be met with the sight of a Prospect with an unconscious bloodied Lia in his arms.
