Michelle stays at the bar, while I go to Lia and Blake's room to talk to them. It's been almost 3 hours since we left for a walk, so I'm hoping they're done by now. I mean, Lia is hurt, so...

I knock on the door and wait for someone to open. It's not long before I'm greeted by the sight of shirtless Blake. Damn, that boy's got some muscle on him. He could put models to shame.

"What's wrong?" He closes the door behind him and leans against the wall in front of me, putting his hands in his pockets.

"Nothing's wrong, I just wanted to speak to Lia about something. But I'm guessing she's not... available." I chuckle.

"She's sleeping. Those pain meds she's taking make her tired most of the time, so she fell asleep as soon as she hit the pillow. – he chuckles – What is it? Maybe I can help."

"We're going to deal with those fuckers today and I wanted to talk to her about what she wants to do to them. – I shrug – She's the one that suffered at their hands the most."

Blake frowns, irritated. I get why it pisses him off, how could I not; his girl got hurt and... used by those guys, so it must be hard for him. That brings me to another issue.

"Doc went to test Lia's blood, right? What did they say?" I implore, mentally praying that she's okay. I don't even want to think about her getting some fucking disease after being hurt so badly.

Blake's shoulders relax as he stays against the wall, moving his arms to cross over his chest. "They came out fine, but we're still going to get them done again in a week or so, just to be sure. Doc said that getting the test done right after the- - he pauses - after that may not be as accurate. Lia also wants to take a pregnancy test, just to be sure." I barely stop myself from making my anger shown.

"You think she might be...?"

"I fucking saw what those bitches did to her!!! You really think I wouldn't recognize it?" Blake erupts, but keeps his voice quiet to not wake Lia up. But he's not successful, as the door of their room opens and Lia comes out, rubbing her eyes.

"Come back to bed." She wraps her arms around Blake and presses her face to his chest, completely ignoring me standing right in front of them.

And just like that she falls back asleep. Still standing.

"Don't laugh. I had to lie down for hours, just so she could use me as her pillow." Blake chastises as he picks her up bridal style and takes her back to their room. "Come on in, I don't think I'll be able to get out of her hold again. It was a miracle I did it earlier." He chuckles amused.

"I see you already unpacked... Michelle still has to do that." I joke, while Blake sits down in the armchair, cradling Lia in his arms. They are so adorable. I take a seat in front of them and lean my elbows on my knees.

"Did Lia tell you what she wants to do about those guys? I don't want to keep them alive much longer, even though Doc said they won't survive till tomorrow anyway."

"Why?"

"Oh right, you don't know... When we got to the Cage, we learnt from Lorenzo that he 'roughed them up' – I put quotation marks – then when he heard that they hurt her, he ordered his men to shoot fuckers' knees." Pure shock crosses Blake's face when he hears this.

"I had an idea that he likes her. She is popular at the Cage, so I shouldn't be surprised." He strokes Lia's hair as he speaks, making her snuggle closer into his broad chest, throwing her arm over his neck. She's like a baby, an adorable baby. Most of the time she's really serious, but with Blake she just lets go and that's when you can tell she's actually a teenage girl.

"Lorenzo admitted that he likes her. He even called her his favorite girl and said that no one crosses her and gets away with it. But I'm worried about the reason those shitheads were at the Cage. It can't be a coincidence."

"I agree. I thought about it while Lia was sleeping, I mean, I had 3 hours to think!, and I came to conclusion that either someone at the Cage worked with them and that's how they knew how to get her or..."

"Or what?"

"Or it was that little shit that she fought that night. She called me after the fight, while she was at her hideout, and told me that he gave off a weird vibe and fought dirty. He lost, obviously, but Lia had a hard time with him."

"You don't suspect Lorenzo?" I question. I don't like that man, so I wouldn't put it past him to do something like that.

"No, he's cool. Lia is the best fighter at his club and she earned him a lot of money. Besides, he cares too much about his reputation to do something like that. He's dangerous, yeah, but even he wouldn't go against someone as influential as Lia."

"Influential? She's 18." I arch my brow mockingly.

"You have no idea. She has impeccable reputation in all the clubs she used to fight in, including the Cage and the biggest club in San Francisco. Not to mention her dad and his guys. Tyson has a lot of connections and he and his friends will drop everything when it comes to helping her. One word from Lia and a small army will come to her aid. Not that she will say anything. You know her, she likes being independent." I'm fucking shocked. I had no idea that she was this good. She always left right after the fight, so it's hard to believe that she has so many people behind her. Though it shouldn't surprise me. She's really mature for her age and it draws people to her. She sure as hell doesn't seem like an 18-year-old.

"Do you know who she fought against?"

"I think his name was Ranger or something like that, I can't be sure. I could check on her phone, but..." He laughs, gesturing at the sleeping girl. "It's on the nightstand, can you get it?"

"Sure." I get the phone and hand it to him, laughing quietly when he barely manages to remove his arm and take it from me. Lia adjusts her position with a groan and tightens her hold on his neck. Blake rubs her waist under the shirt while he checks the phone.

"You know the password?" I tease.

"Of course I do. We don't have any secrets." He deadpans scrolling through the messages. "Yep, his name's Ranger. He's been trying to book a fight with Lia ever since we came to town. – he frowns – Now that I look at it, he first texted her few hours after we arrived at her house. I remember that well, since we had to go to my house instead cause Lia left her keys at the bottom of her bag. My parents almost had a heart attack when we came for breakfast in the morning." He finishes with a laugh before getting serious again.

"That's too much of a coincidence." We exchange a knowing look.

"Ranger. That's why those fuckers were at the Cage."

"I'm thinking the same thing."

"I'll send you Lorenzo's number. He should have information about the guy. Lia is the only one that fights under an alias with a mask. If that shithead really was involved, then he must've known about Lia's identity and her connection to Michelle."

"And that means Michelle knows him." Fuck, this is getting complicated.

Michelle's dad's murder might not have been just a simple burglary gone wrong.
