I stare distractedly at the scenery through the car window as we drive, thinking about everything that happened that lead us to this. I can't believe it's already the end of summer. And to think if I hadn't meet John and fall in love with him, I would be on my way to San Francisco right now, getting ready for another year at college...

After a long, looong talk with John, I decided to stay here instead of leaving for college. Now that I'm pregnant, John didn't want to me to be alone without anyone to help me. At the same time, I don't think I would be able to concentrate on school while also taking care of the baby and missing my man. It would be heartbreaking to leave him now.

I may not be leaving, but Lia and Blake are.

Right now, John, I and other members of the club are on our way to the airport, to bid goodbye to our friends. Key somehow found out which plane they're taking, so we're planning to surprise them.

Once we reach the parking lot by the airport, John stops the car before rounding it and helping me get out. The guys from the club also park their bikes and we all walk towards the entrance.

"Michelle? What are you doing here?" Mrs. Knights exclaims when she notices me. She's clearly surprised to see me here.

"Hi Mrs. Knights. We came to see Lia and Blake off. But where are they?" I glance around, looking for my friend, only to yelp as I'm suddenly hugged from behind.

"I'm right here, Goldie. Missed me?" Lia teases, obviously enjoying my reaction.

"Lia! – I scold – Don't scare me like that!" I whine.

"Hi guys! What're you doing here?" My friend completely ignores me, addressing the guys around us with her arms still around me.

"We're here to send you off. We won't see you for a while..." John answers.

"I'm gonna miss you." I croak sadly, turning in Lia's arms to hug her back.

"I know, Squirrel. I'm gonna miss you too. We'll come to visit, you know. I can't wait to see that little bun you've got in your oven." She grins, glancing pointedly at my stomach. I've got a barely noticeable baby bump now, but not too big for it to be obvious that I'm pregnant.

"Lia!" I whine, pulling away from her. Why is she always teasing me?!

"Come on, kitten. Leave the poor girl alone." Blake finally steps in, pulling his sadistic fiancée into his side.

"Oh, please. You know it's funny. Two oblivious idiots are going to have a baby." Lia mocks with a smirk, making Blake laugh quietly.

"I got your drinks. Wait, what's going on here?" Mr. Knights walks up to our group and hands Lia and Blake two cups of what looks like a fruit smoothie.

"Thanks dad." "Thanks Jared." Two lovebirds say simultaneously.

"You're welcome. Hey, I recognize you. – Jared stares at the guys quizzically – From last year after the accident."

"Yeah. It's nice to see you again, Mr. Knights." John greets warmly.

"They came to see the kids off." Mrs. Knights tells her husband with a smile. I thought she would be more apprehensive about Lia being friends with a biker club, especially one percenters, but she's really welcoming and I can't feel even an ounce of dislike towards the guys from her.

"Oh, that's nice of you."

Blake's father is about to say more, but the announcement about Lia and Blake's plane stops him. "Guess we've got to go. See you on Christmas, guys." Lia announces, pulling me into a tight hug. "Stay healthy and don't stress too much. Be safe." She whispers into my ear.

We all exchange hugs and I don't miss how Lia tells John something. After we're all done, we watch as Lia and Blake go through the gates, but not without giving us one last wave. That's when the waterworks start. I bury my face in John's chest and sob quietly into his cut.

"Hey, hey, what's wrong? Lia said they'll come back for Christmas." Mrs. Knights soothingly rubs my shoulder.

"Sorry, Mrs. Knights. She's been quite emotional lately." John chuckles from above me.

"Pregnancy hormones, huh? I get it."

"You don't seem surprised." Gun states, sounding confused, as we walk back to the parking lot.

"We know how close you guys and Lia are. It's not like we can forbid her and Blake from seeing you, so we decided to accept your friendship. While we were on vacation, they explained what happened over the summer and about last year when they were run off the road. After almost losing our son we looked differently at ourselves and our views of what's good for Blake." Mr. Knights says, getting a quiet sigh from his wife.

"And you don't mind that we're not exactly... the nicest bunch around?" John hesitantly asks.

"Not at all. Don't think we don't know what happened to those loan sharks that went after the kids. We're not fucking naive." I almost choke on my own spit at Mr. Knights' words. I had no idea they knew!!!

"And you're okay with that?" Wolf exclaims in shock.

"Not really, but the kids are both adults now. We can't really tell them what to do. If they choose to be close to you, then so be it. And we're not against it. You clearly care about them so..." Mrs. Knights trails off with a smile.

"Yeah, Lia is... a sister. She's really important to us." John admits.

We stay in the parking lot for a while, waiting for Doc and Mrs. Knights to finish their talk. Apparently, they used to work together at the hospital, so they know each other. John and Gun are talking to Mr. Knights, while I stay snuggled into my man's side.

Gun and Mr. Knights really hit it off, probably because they're close in age. After a while John and I leave them alone, deciding to go home.

Home.

We have a home.

Our house is already done, having taken about 3 weeks to get built. We also decorated it, deciding to hire an interior designer. The theme of the house is white, navy blue and lilac. Only the baby's room is a light peach, since we wanted it to be different.

John parks in the driveway before helping me get out again and leading me inside by my hand. Once we enter the house, John immediately head towards the kitchen, which looks exactly like we thought it would. Wooden cabinets, stone counter-tops and hardwood floor. John even went as far as buying copper pots and pans to fit the look.

"How about we have an early lunch then have a nap?" John suggests, probably catching my yawn.

"Good idea. I'm so damn tired." I groan.

"I can tell." He softly smiles, trailing his fingers on the dark circles under my eyes. I couldn't sleep properly lately for some reason.

We eat in silence, before heading to our bedroom, where we quickly change our clothes – well, I change clothes, while John simply undresses – and get in bed, with me snuggled closely into John's side with my arm thrown over his chest and his arm around my shoulders.

This is the best life.
