"Calm down, Prez Lady, it'll be fine." Gun assures, while Maggie only smiles gently at me. We've been sitting in the common room ever since John left to Chicago and now I'm close to freaking out. It's been hours. Hours of being away from my man, hours of not knowing what's going on, hours of worrying.

"You're so cute. Tank will be fine, don't worry." Maggie chuckles in amusement.

"It's just that... I don't want to lose my friend. If only I said something, she wouldn't feel so bad, she wouldn't be so... hurt by this. She's done nothing but protected me, helped me, but I was so focused on what those guys said that I didn't even defend her when John yelled at her..." I quietly say, staring at my coffee. I feel like I betrayed my friend and it's awful.

"Lia will understand once he explains himself. She's a great girl, she'll forgive him." Maggie expresses, patting my hand on the table.

"Thanks, Maggie. I just feel horrible about this whole thing."

"I can see that. But they'll make up and everything will be fine."

"This is what happens when two people are exactly the same..." Gun chuckles and I turn to him in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

"Lia and Tank are really alike. That's why they clash. Tank is used to being in charge, but Lia's independent nature challenges that. She likes to deal with stuff on her own, because she's used to that, just like Tank likes to take care of everything himself. And that's why he snapped like that. He doesn't like to depend on people, just like Lia." He explains. Oh. So that's why...

"Oh. So, because Lia and John are so similar, they both want to be in charge, and that's why they argue." I sigh.

"Yep. But it's not only about being in charge, she's just used to dealing with everything on her own, while Tank was raised to be the leader of the club. He saw Lia's actions as a challenge of his authority in the club." Maggie adds.

"But she didn't mean to challenge him! You guys were still in church, and she wanted to speak to those guys. I just went there to hear what they had to say, but once we came back, Lia wanted to tell him everything!" I cry out, curling my hand into a fist.

"We know. That's why once they talk, they'll be back to normal. They're both smart people, they just need to communicate better." Maggie smiles reassuringly. I only sigh and nod in response.

We stay in the common room for the rest of the day, talking and getting to know each other better. I've found out that Maggie is actually John's half-sister, being born by John's father's first wife, Magdalene. I was surprised, to be honest, I didn't know they were related.

"You should've seen Tank's face when I claimed Maggie as my old lady. He was just a kid, but still challenged me to a fight. I beat his ass, obviously, but he was still sulking for the next few years, refusing to call me his brother." Gun laughs, making me giggle. I try to imagine baby John be angry at his older sister and her man, but I fail miserably, incapable of seeing my man as anything else than what he is now.

And now, he's a mature, responsible and amazing guy that goes as far as riding to Chicago just to fix his wrongs and get Lia's forgiveness.

"What was he like? When he was younger?" I ask curiously, genuinely intrigued.

"Reckless. Righteous. Stupid. And fucking annoying." Gun laughs loudly.

"Dominic!" Maggie scolds, slapping his arm. "He was a boy raised by bikers his whole life, of course he would cause trouble. - she deadpans before turning to me - After he joined the army, he grew up fast, forced to take responsibility for not only himself, but for his team. When he joined the SEALs, he really changed. The stuff those guys witness are not for the soft-hearted. Then our father died, and he had to take over the club, to take responsibility of everyone here. He grew up. He was forced to do so." Maggie ends with a sigh.
