I walk out of the clubhouse, but as I'm at the door, I turn around, marching towards Tank with a hard expression. He only has time to glance at me quizzically before I punch him in the gut. He doubles over, clutching onto his stomach while everyone either gasps or laughs."That's for treating me like a kid." I smirk mockingly, patting his head.
"Are you happy now?" He wheezes out.
"Of course I am. – I grin – Love you, bro!" I rush out of the clubhouse before he can get me, skipping to my car happily.
"I'll get you back, you witch!" I hear Tank call out as I get in my car. I had to replace the last Camaro, since it couldn't be repaired.
I got an exact same car.
I head straight to Blake's house, where I'm met by panicking Sam running around the house and laughing Jared as he watches his wife.
"Oh don't worry, it's normal before a trip." Jared chuckles when he sees my dumbstruck expression.
"Oh... Why? I thought everything's ready..." I trail off, sitting next to him on the couch.
"It is, but you know how she is. Everything has to be perfect or she won't leave the house." He laughs.
"Thank God Blake takes after you then." I joke back.
"Speaking of Blake, he's at the store, he said he has to get something. But... aren't you two going to pack?"
"We're already packed, yesterday. I didn't want to do it the last moment, so we don't forget anything. – I grin – I always manage to leave something behind."
"Damn, you're good. You're making my son a better man and I can't even express how grateful I am that he has you. I just wish he met you sooner, we could've avoided that whole Montana thing..." Jared sighs tiredly.
"Who knows... But we can't change it now." I shrug.
"I know, daughter-in-law." He smirks teasingly.
Jared and Sam took our engagement quite well, they didn't oppose to it and were genuinely happy to see Blake and I so ready to take the next step in our relationship. I was quite worried they would say we're too young or something, but they only smiled and congratulated us. Sam cried, just like Blake predicted.
"Lia! Oh God, it's good you're back, can I borrow you for a second?" Sam rushes into the room, completely out of breath.
"Yeah, sure." I follow her out to the master bedroom, where she shows me a heap of clothes lying on the bed.
"I have no idea what to take. It's a nightmare!" I barely stop myself from laughing at her lost expression.
"I thought you were already packed?" What was supposed to be a statement ended up being a question.
"Yeah, but I checked the weather and I need to pack something warmer. But I'm at complete loss with this." She sighs, putting her hands on her hips as she stares worriedly at the pile of clothes in front of her. This time I laugh.
"Sorry. - I apologize when I catch Sam's gaze – I just find it funny."
"I know... Tell me to operate on an emergency patient or bring me a difficult case and I'm fine. But packing for a two-week trip? Disaster." Sam joins me in laughter.
"So what do you need me for?"
"Help. What would you take? A jacket, a coat, a sweater? Jeans, cargo pants, boots, sneakers? I don't know what to choose."
