I keep Michelle on my lap during dinner, ignoring Lia and Blake's teasing smiles. Lia, being the annoying witch she is, gives us knowing smirks once in a while, almost as if she knows what transpired between me and my girl.

"Lia, stop it!" Michelle whines, not being able to stand the looks.

"What? I'm just looking. – Lia taunts – You seem to be... glowing lately." She wiggles her eyebrows mockingly. I watch as delicious redness covers my girl's cheeks before she hides her face in my chest.

"Stop it!" She squeaks cutely, embarrassed by Lia's words. My adorable girl.

"So cute!" Lia smirks.

"Right? – I kiss my girl's head, grinning widely when she hides even further into my shirt – My cute little treasure."

"John! Not you too!"

"Precious, I talked to you about calling me by my name in front of the club. – I admonish lightly – Call me by my road name, yeah?"

"Okay, okay. I forgot."

"It's really nice to just sit and joke and all, but there's a quite pressing matter I need to talk to you about." I tell the two lovebirds in front of us.

Blake feeds Lia some pasta – he hasn't let her eat on her own ever since they came here – then they both turn to me, waiting for me to elaborate.

"Key and Finn got something." I start.

"Do you remember my cousin? Michael Lans?" Michelle questions.

"Yeah..." Lia trails off, looking confused.

"Well, he's-"

"I think we should start from the beginning. Finn and Key looked into that Ranger guy and they went over all security footage from last year to find him with some face recognition program. They found out that Ranger paid chief Lans a visit last summer. 2 days later he and his son moved out."

"We all had already left for college when that happened, so I didn't know about this."

"It's fine. I know it's not your fault. But why would Ranger go to the chief of police?" Lia wonders with a suspicious look.

"Well, that's another thing the guys found. My dad and uncle Mark had been working on a case connected to some company. And Ranger was working for them."

"We're talking about organ trafficking." I add.

"Tell me everything, Tank, you know better than to hide things from me."

"Ranger and Michael have been in contact ever since they met. – Lia looks furious when she hears this, making Blake rub her side comfortingly and kiss the crown of her head. – Key and Finn are looking into that, but I think it was Michael that told Ranger about you." I sigh deeply, waiting for Lia's reaction.

"That fucking blondie!" Blake booms, smashing his fist on the table.

"Blondie?"

"That's what Lia named him when we first met him. We were at the mall and he and his friends catcalled after her, then he approached her when she was leaving the changing room."

"When I tried to go around him, he grabbed me, so I twisted his wrist and warned him off. But the wimp decided to make it an issue and accused me of assault. That when we learned that he's the chief's son." Lia finishes with a snarl, clearly angry at the mere thought about the guy.

"I only heard about how you sprained his wrist. – Michelle exclaims in shock - After we got closer, he told me how you're a bad influence, and that you're aggressive and have anger issues. He'd never said anything about him harassing you. Of course he wouldn't, he's extremely arrogant and obnoxious, mainly because of his father's job. He's used to being untouchable, so when you put him in his place, he found it humiliating." She shakes her head, sighing tiredly. That cousin of hers sounds like an asshole.

"You know what him working with Ranger means, right?" Blake leans forward, giving me and my girl an imploring look.

"What?" Michelle sounds worried. I'm about to answer, but Lia speaks first.

"It means he turned his back on you. I don't think he wasn't aware of the reason Ranger's been looking for you. And he probably knows about those guys trying to kill you. Yet he still chose to help them, even though you're his family. Either he's just a complete douchebag and he hates you or there's some money flowing between him and Ranger. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter."

"He's always hated me, even when we were little. He's the reason I... have all those insecurities about my appearance and weight. He's been making fun of me my whole life, calling me names and getting his friends to bully me. But I never thought he would go this far..." Michelle leans her head against my chest, looking heartbroken.

"There's no need to worry about him, Goldie. He's made his bed, now he has to sleep in it. If he betrays his family, his own blood, then he's not worth your worries. Trust me, I should know."

"Lia's right, he's not worth it. Had he been a decent human being, he wouldn't treat you like this. If you don't want him to get hurt, I understand, but he deserves the worst punishment for what he's done." I bury my face in my girl's luscious gold locks, cradling her in my arms.

"I just don't understand how could he... Lia went through hell because of him! I hate him so much!"

I keep my girl securely in my arms, pressing my lips to her head and rubbing her shoulder soothingly. I know it must be hard for her to hear about her own family being involved with the people after her life.

"That's not all, though. Key and Finn found Michael. He's in town, in his old house to be precise. I told the guys to track his movements so we know if he meets with Ranger. That way we will be able to get them both at once." I explain.

"Wasn't your uncle's house sold?" Lia asks Michelle with a confused frown on her face.

"I think so. When I went there after we came back, there were some strangers there. They told me the previous owners moved out."

"Then how the hell is he there?" Blake inquires curiously.

"I don't know. And don't care, to be honest. We'll be paying him a visit once he gets in contact with Ranger. We've been looking for the fucker for a month, so you can be damn sure we won't let him get away once we get him." I retort.

"If blondie works with him and got involved in this organ trafficking business you mentioned, then this might be really dangerous." Blake wonders out loud.

"Well I'm not fucking scared. Most of us were in the army, Marines, SEALs, Navy, you name it. We're more than capable of taking care of this. And if we got other chapters of Shadow Warriors involved, we could get rid of that whole damn organization." I tell them, getting a satisfied nod from Lia and a shocked glance from Michelle.

"I agree. But maybe it won't come to that. It all depends on whether blondie is involved in that whole trafficking thing or not. I don't think he is." Lia shrugs.

"You are so fucking weird. We are talking about the possibility that my woman's cousin, who's also got some fucking vendetta against you, can have connection to a group that sells human organs on the black market. And you just shrug. Like it's nothing. Unbelievable." I sigh, shaking my head incredulously. This woman, I swear.

"Okay fine, that's all great and all, but what are we going to do now? We've been staying here for a month already. I'm not saying it's bad, but I really want to take my girl home and put this shit behind us." Blake worriedly states, getting a kiss from Lia as she melts in his embrace.

"We will get them when they meet up. Then we'll bring them to the shed for Killer to have fun." I smirk evilly, getting a sinister chuckle from Lia in response.

This girl is crazy.
