My little mouse sits on the terrace, gazing into the distance absentmindedly, slowly swaying in the rocking chair. I watch her worriedly for a while before sighing heavily and going back inside.

"How is she?" Kian is the first to ask, as he sips on his coffee.

"Still the same." I sigh. "She just sits there and stares at nothing."

Kian, Finn and Cole came here with my girl few hours ago and decided to stay over to fill me in on everything that happened while I was gone.

After hearing how my little mouse was treated, I was close to fucking blowing up!!! My Lia only tried to help, but they treated her like some fucking trash.

"I can't believe they did something like that... If I were there when Tank spoke to her like that, I would fucking beat him up. Why did he snap at her like that anyways? She just talked to some guys in their shed. What's the problem with that?!" I feel my temper rise the longer I think about it.

"Let's not talk about it, it'll only make us angry. It's their problem now." Cole suggests.

The guys leave after finishing their drinks, and I go outside to my little girl. I take a seat on the chair next to hers and sit quiet. If she wants to speak, she will. I won't push her.

"Did I do the right thing?" Lia implores, and if it weren't for the silence around us, I wouldn't have heard her.

"If you mean coming here, then you made the best decision. I'm always happy to have you here."

"You know what I mean, dad." She sighs.

"I know. But I don't know what to tell you, little mouse. It's not your fault they're ungrateful, so don't feel bad about this. Even though I get why Tank reacted the way he did, he was wrong to treat you like that. He shouldn't have yelled at you, he shouldn't have spoken to you like this."

"I get he was mad, but... - she sighs deeply – I just feel betrayed. It's like... they never saw me as anything else but some stupid teenager. As if nothing I did for them mattered..." Lia's voice breaks and it shatters my heart. It's never been easy for her to open up to people, so I know she's even more hurt by this.

"I put myself on the line for them, I was hurt... I put Blake in danger, fuck, I almost lost him! I got you and the guys involved, but it's like he didn't see it. Once he got his eyes on Squirrel, he stopped caring about everything and everyone else." She breathes out, still staring into nothing as a lone tear falls down her cheek.

"I get it. I really do. You made the right decision by leaving. You can get some rest, get away from all that drama and just relax. You've been worrying about everyone and I can see you're tired." I get up from the chair and press a kiss to the crown of her head. My poor little mouse.

I leave my little mouse on the back porch, heading to the kitchen to make my girl dinner. I know she's probably hungry even if she doesn't say anything.

I make my little mouse's favorites - beef lasagna, seafood pasta and Italian tagliata with rosemary, olive oil and cherry tomatoes - and open a bottle of wine to let it breathe. Once I'm done, I go out back to get my little girl, only to find her curled up in the rocking chair with her eyes closed.

I don't want to wake her, but she needs to eat something. "Little mouse. - I coo quietly – Princess, dinner's ready." I whisper, crouching in front of her sleeping form.

After few minutes of soft cajoling, my little princess finally opens her eyes, sleepily staring at me. "I made you dinner, you have to eat something." When I see no reaction from her except for blinking, I pick her small body from the chair and carry her to the kitchen, where I settle her at the island with a kiss on her head before setting the beef on the stove.
