I'm with Wolf, Knife and Don in Oakland, checking up on our business. Usually I don't come here personally, but apparently the director of the club we own has some problems with delivering our stuff and money.
"I'm not doing this again. I've had enough of you."
"You do realize that if you don't work for me, then there's no use for you, right?" I sarcastically remark, folding my arms over my chest. We're in the office, with the dear director tied up to a chair, staring at us fearfully.
"You can't kill me! Too many people know about me! They will ask questions, they will-"
"Let me stop you right there. – I cut him off – You really think any of those people will look for you? How naive can you be? Those are our guys, not yours." I laugh, enjoying how his face pales.
"Please spare me!" He cries out. But I'm inconsolable. He crossed us and stole our delivery only to distribute it all on his own. Which is unforgivable in my book.
"Spare you? Funny." I dryly say, beckoning at Wolf and Knife to get him out. We're taking him to the compound to get rid of him. He's a traitor.
Now all we have to do is find someone responsible enough to watch over our business. But until we do that, Don will have to stay here.
"You'll be fine for a while?"
"Yeah. It's alright. I wanna check how much did he cost us and how much he fucked us over." Don gets right into the paperwork on the desk.
"Okay then. Call if you need anything." I pat his shoulder and walk out of the office, eager to get back home.
It's been 3 days since the date with my Treasure and Lia's visit. It's sad that she's gone, but maybe it's for the better. She's been through way too much. She didn't deserve to go through such pain.
My Treasure cried over losing her friend and it was painful to watch her so heartbroken. I assured her that she didn't lose Lia, but I don't know if it helped. Lia is a great girl, with a big heart. She forgave me for treating her like dirt, even when she didn't have to, she even came by to say goodbye, deciding to see Michelle before she left.
But even though Lia left, she stayed in contact with Michelle. They talk on the phone every evening, while I'm in Church. Then this shit in Oakland came up. I had to deal with it myself. I wish I didn't have to leave my girl, but she said she'll be fine. Maggie also offered to watch over her, saying she'd like to know her better.
I reach home within few hours and with a big grin on my face I enter the compound. My Treasure is sitting at the bar with Maggie with her back facing me. Pure pride spreads through me at the sight of my property cut on her body. Instead of the name 'Michelle', I put 'Treasure' on her cut, cause she's my precious girl. Just like I didn't put her name on the cut, Michelle didn't put my name on her tattoo. Instead of 'Tank', my road name, she has my birth name tattooed on her back, with a small red heart in place of the letter 'o'.
"Good afternoon ladies." I warmly greet, wrapping my arms around my girl's shoulders from behind and kissing her head. She didn't even notice me walking up to her. So cute.
"John!" She exclaims happily, shooting up from the stool right into my embrace. I squeeze her affectionately, loving the feel of her soft body against mine.
"Precious, I talked to you about calling me by my birth name." I warn jokingly, knowing well she'll never use my road name like I wanted her to. Guess I'll have to get used to it.
"Oh please. – she rolls her eyes before grinning – I missed you. How did it go?"
"It went perfect. The son of a bitch is in the shed. Fucker didn't even know what hit him." I smirk.
"That little shit must be some special kind of stupid." Maggie chuckles in pure amusement.
"Yep. And we'll make him fucking pay for his stupidity. We lost a shit ton of money because of him. No one steals from us and gets away with it." I shake my head before sitting at the bar with my Treasure in my lap, calling out for the prospect to give me a drink.
"Where's Don?" Treasure asks when Knife and Wolf walk in.
"He stayed in Oakland to take care of the business before we get someone else." I answer casually.
"Yeah, I don't envy him." Knife chortles.
"Paperwork is pure evil." Wolf adds with a laugh.
"You guys are so weird..." Michelle laughs.
I don't even comment on that, instead finish my drink, get up and sit my treasure back on the stool. "I'm going to change real quick and then we can go." I kiss her head before going to our room. We're going on a date, just like we did for the last three days. That's why I left to Oakland early in the morning - so I could come back before dinner. I'm planning to take my girl to Soprano for dinner then to the carnival two towns over. If it weren't for Lia giving me the tickets, I wouldn't have known there was such a thing even happening. That girl is a witch. How the hell does she know all that stuff? She always manages to surprise me.
After a quick shower and a change of clothes I go back to the common room, taking my girl's hand and lead her to my bike. She calls out a short goodbye to everyone and skips through the room. I really like how comfortable she is with the club.
Last year when she came here with Lia, she was so afraid of all of us she could barely speak without stammering and shaking. I know bikers from a one percent club don't have the best reputation, so the looks we get from people don't really bother me, but it would crush me to see my woman scared of me or my brothers. Over the summer, she really opened up to the guys and the Old Ladies, especially Maggie. She has that effect on people, she's motherly and loving, treating the younger girls with patience and care. I guess it's because she pretty much raised me instead of my mom.
"So where are we going?" Michelle asks as I help her get on the bike.
"Nope, you're not getting it out of me. – I sternly tell her – Stop with the puppy eyes, not gonna work this time." I warn her playfully, averting my gaze from the irresistible cerulean blue orbs that gaze at me pleadingly.
"Oh come on." She whines cutely.
"Nope. Not a chance. All I'll tell you is that we're going to dinner first." I shush her with a kiss when I see she's about to object. Stubborn little Treasure.
I mount the bike, enjoying the feel of Treasure's arms around my waist and her body pressed to mine.
This is what I've yearned for.
This is what I wanted.
This is what my life should be like.
