Right! Time to end this with a cliché dance who's ready?! Not me, catch me crying writing this.
Cyrus POV:
'Mom please stop-'
'Just one more!'
'No!'
Ignoring my protests, my mom took another photo with her super expensive camera which I'm sure she bought just to humiliatingly take photos of me. I mean, I'm not sure why i feel so embarrassed about it, I look snazzy tonight. The night of the dance. Yes, today was my last day of school until the end of summer and I am exhilarated! I plan on spending it with my beautiful boyfriend and my amazing best friends. These past months have been wild...yet probably my best.
'Mom! This isn't prom!' I face palmed, cringing at my over enthusiastic parents...but as TJ always reminds me, I should be grateful they love me so much.
She finally took the camera off her eyes, signalling the end of my photo shoot, 'I know...it's just your first dance! And now you have a boyfriend-'
'Please end that sentence right there,' I sighed, 'We've already danced together before mom, Bex and Bowie's wedding,'
Frowning she replied, 'That's not the same as going to a dance together, I'm proud of you for wanting to go Cyrus, I know this takes a lot,'
Knowing she was referring to my anxiety, I gave her a small smile, 'Thanks Mom...TJ will be there and that's good enough for me,'
'Awwwww!' My mom fan girled as I regretted saying anything.
Blushing, I walked down the stairs so she couldn't take any more cliché photos of me on them. 'Yeah whatever,' I mumbled.
'You love him don't you Cyrus?' My mom bit her lip, trying to hide her obvious smile.
I pretended to look at the pretend watch on my wrist, 'Oh look at the time! He should be here any minute to pick me up!'
Todd, who had been watching this entire situation play out from the comfort of the sofa, gave a nod of approval, 'What a gentleman,'
Burying my head in my hands I groaned, 'Not you too!'
My mom put her hands on my shoulders, pulling me closer to her, 'It's because we love you Cyrus, we want to protect you,'
I couldn't help but grin, 'I love you guys too,'
'And we will kill TJ if he ever hurts you,' she added bluntly.
'He won't,' I shook my head, 'He's a good person,'
'I know,' my mom agreed, 'But if anything happens, you just let us know and we'll get right on it!'
I was about to say something when there was a knock at the door which was most definitely TJ. I became very nervous very quickly. Is my hair ok? Is my face bright red? Does my breath stink? Do I have something in my teeth? Are my hands sweaty? What if he doesn't like my outfit-
My mom coughed, 'Are you going to get that?'
I smiled awkwardly, 'Ummm...I think I'll just meet him outside, besides, you were planning to kill him two seconds ago and I don't want to take a corpse to the dance,'
Thankfully, she agreed, 'Fine! But only because I know you're just anxious about seeing him and you don't want us to witness it,'
I blushed crimson, 'That's uhhh...not true,'
'Remember, be safe! don't do drugs or drink alcohol or-'
Smiling, I interrupted, knowing the ending, 'or go off with any strange men, I know mom you tell me every time,' I laughed.
