STELLA

I visited Will off and on throughout Friday. He was clearly agitated at the fact that he couldn't speak. I don't blame him. But when Saturday rolled around, Will's spirits jumped.

"Almost there, Will," I squeezed his hand. "In about 5 minutes, Barb will set you free."

Will looked up at me, relief swimming in his eyes.

Thank God. He wrote.

"And soon, we'll be traveling the world."

I turned away from Will, hearing a door opening and closing. Barb made her way in along with a few other doctors.

"You ready, Will?" Barb asked him.

Shortly, Will held up the notepad. He had written in capitol letters, 'HELL YAH'.

"Stella, baby," Barb turned to me. "Could you wait outside? I'll get you in 5."

"Of course, Barb." I winked at Will and exited the room.

As promised, Barb brought me in. She smiled at me before proceeding to exit with the other doctors.

I cast my vision over to Will. He was chugging water mercilessly.

"Someone's gonna have to use the bathroom." I crossed my arms and stared at him.

Will set the water down and smirked. "And your back to being a smart mouth again. Get over here, Deaf."

I walked over and stood by the side of his bed. Will rolled his eyes. "All the way, Stella. I thought you were smarter then that."

"Zip it." I snapped before doing what I was told. He slid his arm behind my shoulders.

I gazed up at him, resting my hand on his cheek. He brought his lips closer to mine, silently asking for permission. In answer, I kissed him.

Timeless. That's what it was. We were lost in each other, holding on to every second of those five years that were just beginning. My hands had disappeared in his long, thick, chocolate hair. His fingers grasped my waist.

"Will," I breathed. "Can we hold off until your better?"

Will pulls away. "Alright."

I start to laugh. "Those poor people watching on the security cameras."

Will snorted and pointed to the camera. " I regret nothing!"

We both cracked up. For an hour, we both talked about our futures. We were having a pretty good time. That was, until I brought up Julie's new baby and how much fun it would be to watch him.  Will wouldn't meet my eyes and I could tell he was faking a smile.

"Will?" I put my hand on his lap. "Whats wrong?"

"Nothing." He mumbled.

"Will," I warned. " I know when you're lying."

"Fine," Will snapped. "Kids. You always loved them. I met you in the freaking NICU. I see the way your eyes light up when you talk about them. Even now, your so excited to watch Julie's baby. And who knows? Maybe one day you would decide to take a risk and try to have a kid. I'm sorry but, an infertile boyfriend isn't gonna help you check that goal off your to-do list."

I sat up. "Is that what this is about? Your afraid that I'm going to leave you because you cant have kids?"

"Stella," Will's tone softened. "I had always thought being infertile was the best thing a guy could ask for. But now? I wish I could start a family with you. But I cant, Stella. I cant provide that for you."

Will knew. Yes, I really wanted to have a kid if I'm being honest. And Will figured that out.

"Will," I shook my head. "Yes, I want a kid. There are risks, yes, but your right. It is something I would want. But I wouldn't give you up for some other guy that cant compare to you. I get it. We cant have a baby. But its not the end of the world. You're the one I want, Will."

Will rubbed his eyes. "Are you sure? Because we can just call it quits now if-"

"William!" I snapped, hooking his chin with my finger. " I'm sure."

I let my hand drop and I stood up.

"Where are you going?"

"I need to be alone and think. Besides, Hope and Jason should be visiting you soon."

"But-"

"Bye, Will." I cut him off and slammed the door shut when I left.
