Stella finished up fixing my face, to put it lightly. I checked the time on my phone. 11:00 am. Five more hours until we go back to St. Grace's to visit Donna's granddaughter, Nora. Stella has always had a big heart. There's no problem with that, but I just want her to take precautions. She's like a YouTube celebrity. I don't want her getting hurt.

Yes, I have a caring side. As weird as it sounds.

"Will?" Stella cleared her throat.

"Yeah?"

"Should I just go home?" Stella looked at me.

I shrugged. "I mean, you can stay. Or if you want me to take you home I'll do that."

"I just don't want to impose or anything..." Stella trailed off.

"Are you OK, Stell?" I asked, leaning forward.

"I'm fine." Stella cast her gaze to the white tile floor.

"Does this have anything to do with Shelby?"

"Well...I just thought... you'd want to be alone after what happened."

"Stella," I sighed. "You can just ask."

Stella looked up. "Ask what?"

"Why I broke up with her."

"Alright." Stella stated. "Why did you break up with her?"

"Because she was... to clingy; for lack of a better word. As in she wouldn't let me talk to any other girl and stuff like that. Always texting, calling. I never got a break."

Stella hesitated. "Am I like that at all?"

"Gosh, Stella," I sat down on the floor next to her. "Not at all. Don't even think it."

Stella leaned into my shoulder. "I'm sorry. I just didn't know anything about Shelby or whatever her name is."

"Hey," I rubbed her shoulders. "If we're gonna be together, we need to know everything about each other. Our pasts, and where we want to go in the future."

"OK."

"OK then."  I let Stella's head rest on my lap. She gazed up at me with sandy eyes. I gave her a comforting smile before kissing her nose. "Come on. Lets go watch TV."
