"Yes. There's something about him that we need to know. Once he marries you, it'll be easier to ask him about it."

I nodded.

"The front security guard will be in on it, too. He said he'll spike his own coffee after making sure we get out okay. Then, he'll delete any footage of us leaving the premises. Once he makes sure that the Blacks get in and out alright, he'll delete that footage too and drink his coffee. By the time Joshua finds out what has happened, we'll be long gone. No need to worry."

"...What about Dad? You seem to have thought about everything, but him."

She smiled. "That's why we'll never get caught."

The next morning, I was up before everyone. I had decided that today I would be cooking breakfast. Joshua had seen me do this before, so this wouldn't raise any suspicion. The morning guard came in and talked to me for a while. I had warned him of what would happen if Joshua figured he had something to do with us leaving. He said he didn't care and that he was doing it for the mafia.

"Babe, I'll be back tonight. You be safe and don't do anything I wouldn't do," Joshua warned.

"Josh, when have we ever been in danger?" Mom asked. "Don't you worry about us. We should be worrying about you."

I looked over the rim of my cup and. Joshua was staring at me. I raised an eyebrow, which he took as a sign to come to me. Mom focused on the food I'd made and ignored us completely. Really?

"You don't do anything stupid, will you?" he asked.

I shrugged. "When have I done anything stupid? You're only gone for today."

"You can do so much in a day, Lily." He smirked.

"Dad...go to work already."

"Stop being in such a hurry to get me to leave. I just have to make sure my girls are going to be fine."

"Josh," Mom snapped. "Stop it, please. We love you and hope you're safe," She turned around and smiled. "but you're pushing my buttons. Do you want to be late? I'm positive Seung Chan and Quinn won't be pleased with their partner being late to a meeting he requested."

"Julia, I'm just so worried."

Mom laughed.

"Don't you worry about us. We'll be perfectly fine."

"Don't forget to turn off the lights."

"We won't."

"I swear I'm going crazy right now." He sighed and I sort of felt bad for him. Not!

"You do notice that you're wasting precious time, right?" Mom pointed out. "We'll be safe."

"But, anything could happen to you guys."

"Has anything ever happened to us before?"

"No, but--"

"But nothing. We have our bodyguards and Caden said he'd be waiting outside the school all day."

"But--"

"Joshua Dale, go to work. Like I said before, it wouldn't make sense for a multimillionaire to be late for a meeting he requested." Mom smiled. "I'm going to go check with Caden now."

Joshua nodded and watched her walk out. Once the front door closed, he stood in front of me. I couldn't mistake the lust in his eyes for anything else. What he was feeling was making me mad and scared. I tried to look away, but he tugged my chin back to him.

"What makes you think you can avoid me forever?" he asked.

"...I wasn't avoiding you," I denied.

"Then, what was it? I sure as heck don't know."
