"...Um, Ren?" I prodded tentatively. "What are you up to at the moment?"

"I was about to sleep. It's four in the dang morning, Cynthia," Ren growled. "What do you want?"

"God, you don't have to be so mean." I let out a choked cry. It's about time I got back into pretending to be the damsel in distress.

I heard shifting then Ren speaking to someone else. A woman. Who could be with her and where was she? I know they bought a mansion. Was she there? Did she lie about going to sleep?

"What's up? I didn't mean to be rude. Just tired," Ren apologized.

"It's Youngmin. I know how close you guys are and I'm not trying to get him into any tr-trouble. He's been leaving me without telling me where he's going and I'm hurting so much, Ren. I know we haven't been on the best of terms, but I need someone who understands."

Will she believe me? She's got to believe me. Tyler's clapping softly on the other side of the conference room. If I could just get her here. No one would know. The guards would see her coming in, but never going out. That's why when the deal's done, I'll be the one walking out and pretending to be her. Being a fraud isn't something I'd hope to accomplish since being here, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I'm assuming Ren was getting out of bed at this point. Or walking to her closet to find something to wear. She was moving fast like her life depended on it. I still don't know her relationship with Youngmin, but she's never going to touch what's mine ever again. Christian is mine and Youngmin is mine until the divorce is finalized. My happy ending is coming to a close. Ren is about to get the surprise of a lifetime. And she's never going to live to see the end.

"I'm coming right now, Cynthia. Don't do anything crazy." She was breathing hard like she actually cared for me. As if. "Where is Youngmin now? Where's Zachery?"

"I don't know where Youngmin is," I wailed. "Zachary is out with King Afan. I didn't know who else to call."

"All right. Calm down. I'll be there in no time."

Ren hung up and Tyler began clapping like his life depended on it. A smile spread across his features and I can say if I was forced to marry him...I would. Cousins are cousins. Until they're not. I put my phone down and looked him in the eye. No one should be up at four in the morning. No one in their right mind, that is. But here I am with a man who's wanted by the mafia and the government planning to kill our future comare.

"...So...she's coming?" he asked.

"Duh. Who would refuse to help a fellow mourner?" I pushed my curls from my face. "Gosh...it feels so good to be back in the game. Thanks for this opportunity, Ty."

"Don't mention it. As your favorite cousin, it's my duty to make you happy."

Tyler got that look in his eyes that meant more than he just said. It was creepy, yet I liked it. Anything could be asked of him and he'd do it for me. only for me. If I had been in my right mind all those years ago, then I would have asked him to come and kill Josiah for me. We wouldn't have had to move and my parents wouldn't be douchebags. Maybe mom wouldn't have gotten a chance to truly teach me how to trick men.

I find myself blaming my parents for everything recently. It's never been their fault. It will never be their fault. The countless times I've chosen what to do all on my own, and how bad it turned out, said something about me. It's always been me. Everything I've done over the past years has been my fault, but I'm going to fix it. After Ren is dead I'm going to be the one people are bowing to and searching for approval.

"Where's Cynthia?" Ren asked as she burst into the conference room. I was just a little ways behind her, so I was glad she hadn't seen me just yet. She'd followed the guards order and came here first before going to my room. "The guards said she would be in here."
