The Cooper Estate
"Madre, non hai niente da preoccuparsi. Il signor Russo sa cosa sta facendo." Mother, you have nothing to worry about. Mr. Russo knows what he's doing.
"Non è lui che mi preoccupa." It's not him I'm worried about.
"Poi chi?" Then who?
"Non importa chi. Sotto che farà male a qualcuno e tu sarai responsabile." It doesn't matter who. Just know that it will hurt someone and you all will be responsible.
"Well...I'm home anyway. Jason and I are going on a mission for him and it's going to get bad."
"You die...I'll bring you back to life and kill you again. Ricorda che, Mariano." Remember that, Mariano.
Isabella hung up and pressed a cold water bottle to her forehead. Her boys were making her regret ever having children.
She looked up just in time to see her husband sneaking back into the room.
"Matteo, dove il heck sei stato tutta la notte?!" she exclaimed. Matteo, where the heck have you been all night?! Her husband pursed his lips and sighed. There was no use lying.
"Working?" he said. "Per favore non uccidermi, l'amore." Please don't kill me, love.
Isabella shook her head in disgust as she took in her husband's image. His ombre style hair was a mess. His shirt was unbuttoned near the top and lipstick was smeared on his neck. It seemed as if he couldn't keep it in his pants. Again.
She ground her teeth together and stood up slowly. Before she could even get closer to him, the stench of alcohol hit her. She scrunched her nose in disgust and crossed her arms.
"Do I have a reason to kill you, sweetie?" she spat, her gaze burning the stain on his neck. "Do I need to remind you that I'm the one who calls the shots and does as I please?"
"B-babe, I don't know what you mean." He tried smiling at her.
"...Just remember. If one day you find that you're out on the streets...I'm the one who's going to haunt you for the rest of your life."
"You don't have to say that, Ale. I completely understand, but if you weren't so busy--"
"Busy?! I'm doing the job that you refused to take on. If I'm too busy, why don't you help me out!"
Matteo scowled and held up a hand to shut his wife up. He wasn't taking any crap from here anymore. Whether she knew it or not, he was always busy getting deals through. It didn't involve being a prostituta, or a ho as the Americans liked to say.
He decided to not say anything that would make her strangle him. He sighed.
"Bella, you arguing with me won't do you any good," he said. "I do more than you think and cheating on you isn't part of what I do."
"Then why is there a lipstick stain on your neck?" she asked.
"Long story short, it was business. It didn't involve taking my--"
She stopped him and nodded. There was no use arguing with him anymore. He had the victory in the bag. Or did he?

Russo Estate
"So...what did you want us for? We have school in two days, so I don't think we can do any missions."
"It doesn't matter what you can and cannot do, I hold your lives in my hand, Mariano."
Elias looked to his brother and shook his head. Mariano's eyes widened and he sucked his teeth. It's not like he really cared about school. He just wanted to be offered any opportunity his brother would not have. Like going on a mission for David Russo.
"Sit. I have so much to tell you." David waved his hand at a set of chairs and sat down at his desk. He pulled out a manila folder with papers sticking out. "I know someone will come across this eventually, so I want you to know first."
"Why?"
"Because...you're both dimentico. Not much I can do about that, but it's useful for me."
Mariano shook his head and looked to his brother.
"Non intendiamo mancanza di rispetto, signor Russo, ma non credo che nessuno dei due sia in vena di qualsiasi cosa ci si debba chiedere," Elias said. "Non puoi chiedere ad Aless e Alex?" We mean no disrespect, Mr. Russo, but I don't think either of us are in the mood for anything you have to ask us. Can't you ask Aless and Alex?
"Ho chiesto loro?" David snapped. "So solo che non rappresenteranno ciò che voglio che entrambi facciate per me. Voglio dire, non ho nessun altro mio padre si fida della mafia." Did I ask for them? I just know they won't stand for what I want you both to do for me. Meaning, I have no one else my father trusts in the mafia.
"How can you trust us, Don Russo?"
"You are my associates, are you not, Mariano?"
"Yes, but--"
"No, buts. Ascolta attentamente, perché lo spiegherò solo una volta." Listen closely, because I'm only going to explain this once.
David flipped the folder open and looked at the men before him. They were quite young and acted stupid, but he did trust them more than his bastard grandsons. They were known to switch up on you the minute they see you failing. He couldn't blame them.
"As of a few years ago, Josiah has become a capo for the Korean mafia. He has my daughter-in-law and her daughter beneath him," he said.
"Josiah?!" Elias exclaimed. "As in the Josiah who almost killed Capo Russo?"
"What do you mean almost killed?" Mariano asked. "I thought he truly died. No one has heard from him in a couple of years."
"He is not dead...unfortunately, but I do know that the moment Josiah finds out that we are after him, he'll vieni di nuovo a cercarci e prova a distruggerci." come after us again and try to destroy us.
"Um...what does that have to do with us? Josiah knows not to mess with Don Russo's famiglia. He's not as dumb as we hope him to be."
"True, although he has been più intelligente these days."
David glared at the two men and crossed his arms.
"You do know I can kill you, right? It's not like the French mafia cares for the likes of you," he threatened. "Interrupt me again and it won't be your heads I have on a platter, but your anche la mamma."
