I forgot what TCP stood for oops, could be "The Crow Player" but I can't confirm for sure.

Silica City.

A place bustling with people, filled with neon lights and billboards, and most importantly...video games. That meant everything in this world. Only the top players were recognized, and some people went so far to even modify their own body parts to play better. There were also enhancements you could buy, like rings and gloves. But apart from most of the buzz, most people failed to recognize the small things. One of these things...

Were the alleyways.

He woke up.

He was in the dimly lit end of an alley.

He didn't remember what happened, but he at least remembered who he was. He woke up. How long had he been here? What had he been doing? He didn't know. What he knew however, was where he was from, the things he could do, and his friends...

His friends. Where were they? Did they cause this? Did he sacrifice himself to save them from winding up here? Without support from someone he knew, he felt scared. That didn't really matter, since bravery wasn't entirely his thing, but what DID matter was that he needed to find people that could help him get back home. He looked down at his hands. The left one was normal, but the right one...was metal? Actually, it looked like metal covered it, and felt like that too.

It didn't feel like it was surgically attached. It felt like it was put on, yet he got the feeling that taking it off wasn't the best idea. He stood up. He would need to find a group of people to help him now. He had no money, no place to stay, no food. He began walking down the dark alley, towards the neon lights that shone at the end. To the sides of him, he saw air conditioners and things from apartments sticking out of windows.

As he neared the end of the alley, he began hearing music. Cars, voices, songs, and so on. He put a hand out in front of his face to shield himself from the light that shone at him. When his eyes adjusted, he dropped his hand. Sure enough, he saw the signs and sources of said noises. It amazed him, the sights of this place...but he still didn't know where he was.

He walked out of the alleyway and onto the sidewalk. Along it were ramen places, people playing video games on the side, technology stores, and more. He had to admit, it was pretty amazing. He just needed a way to make some money so he could get somewhere. He could use the alley as his temporary home if he had to...

Suddenly, someone noticed his arm while walking by.

"Whoa! I've never seen you around here! Are you a Meta Runner?"

Meta Runner.

That term sounded familiar to him.

But where had he heard it?

"Uh..."

He didn't know what to say. Maybe he should just tell the truth?
