CHAMPION

Chapter 1 Lulla-bye

Erika sat in hers and Jake's huge bed, it was late, the windows covered, the mansion quiet, at first she was confused as to why she was awake so late, then it hit her- Jake wasn't laying next to her.

Erika frowned before getting out of bed pulling her robe on, going to hunt for him; It'd been a while since she'd had their baby, after the death of it, everything had been hard to go through, from seeing other couples with babies, to when she had to tell team 10 about it.

It was early January now, christmas had come and gone, and what was suppose to be a happy time visiting hers and Jakes family was saddened when they had to hear the news of what happened to the baby...

While Erika had gotten back to her normal life, Jake had seemed a bit distant to her, he was there for her 100% during her recovery, but, now he would often be gone in the middle of the night, sometimes not even coming to bed at all, she hadn't wanted to press him on it, but now she was getting concerned. Their marriage was somewhat suffering from it, they'd hadn't really been intimate since the death of the baby, Jake was still going to work, and they'd sometimes fall asleep together, and talk, but he just didn't seem right, he was somewhat snappy to the team, but mostly dry in speaking to them, the only time he seemed full of life was on camera, and Erika knew from experience, that wasn't healthy. Jake had mentioned before the baby was even brought up that he had relaspsed, but they never got an opertuninty to talk about it or see his therapist, with everything from work to what was emotionally going on.

Erika's soft steps padded across the shiny floor as she explored the dark and chilly mansion, she shuddered gripping her pink robe tighter on her as she searched out her husband, she checked downstairs in the living room, the gym, the merch room, the kitchen, looked through the glass to the backyard...Still nothing, Erika gently breathed out a sigh briefly fogging the glassdoor, before spinning around her robe flowing with her as she made her way back up stairs, wondering around the bedroom doors, not thinking Jake would be up with any team members...But suddenly she saw a soft light that caught her eye...

Since Jake kicked the Martinez twins and Tessa out after his courtdate, no one had really been around their old rooms, after the moving men hauled everything out, it only annoyed or brought back old memories for the team, along with them assuming Jake would soon be using them for something else...But even knowing that, Erika wasn't prepared for what she was about to walk into...

Slowly, Erika walked across the hall, gripping both sides of her robe closing it across her abdomen...For some reason, even though she'd lived in the house for months now, she got a eerie feeling walking through it, goosebumps appearing on her arms as she got closer to the light...As she approached it soft music pricked at her ears, it sounded like a lullibie playing, it sounded so sweet and gentle, yet the closer she got to the sound and light, the more the hairs raised on her, almost in warning.

Erika stopped in front of the ajar door, she slowly placed her manicured hand against it, letting it push open a little further, the low, soft blue light from the otherwise dark room creating a hue on her face now, Erika swallowed nervously her eyes darting around the room as it became more and more visable to her.

The things caught her by complete surprise, and she was stuck there in shock for a moment, trying to figure it all out, was she still dreaming?

The room was decorated with a plush babyblue carpet, white walls with trimming on the edges, tiny cars and trucks decorating those strips,

There was a crib in the middle of the room, a huge stuffed bear sitting next to a rockingchair against the right wall, on the other side was a changing table, drawers with silly animal stickers stuck on it, and lables on each drawer;One for Diapers, One with wipes, Another with different bottles and nipples, and one with baby clothes, oneside for pyjamas and one with daily outfits. There was a mobile over the crib full of the sun, moon and stars keeping the color theme; slowly turning in a circle, playing music, emiting the soft light. One of the walls were the decals of the ABCs, in diffrent shades of blue and white, some with sparkles, and on the other wall downwards across from the crib was a picture of Jake and Erika together hung up, with the words "Love you little one" on the frame.

The room was overall beautiful, from the colors, the style, it was the nice things every mother or father would dream of having for their child, the only problem was...They didn't have a baby.

What looked like Jake was walking in slow circles around the crib, holding something in his arms, the gentle firmness he held it with, seemed like he was protecting something, rocking it in his arms, eyes glued looking down at the thing. After taking this all in, Erika let go of the door, slowly backing away; Was it all a dream? Was she sleeping...? How long had that room been there, why was it there....

Erika with a soft, but quickened step, got back to the bedroom, she threw off her robe and hid under the big, soft expensive blanket, letting it wow her frame, as she shut her eyes, trying to block out the eerie scene she just saw, if it wasn't there in the morning, it was all a dream and she should forget about it, if it was there however....
