Chapter 44 Confess this Mess

Weeks had passed, Jake kept busy with work, and buying things, he'd gotten new fish for his tank, a truck, he'd been releasing merch left and right, and planning for the tour, slowly Jake and Erika's time together had began to dwindle, she understood though, Jake was involved with work, he had a lot on his plate to deal with, but she did miss Jake, and she filled that spot with talking to Anthony when Jake wasn't home...But it didn't go unnoticed.

"Hey Anthony," Chance said as they were taking off their headsets, having just gotten finished live streaming on the gaming room Jake had built, they weren't really allowed in there to play unless they were working, so they began heading out now.

"What's up bro?" Anthony questioned as he took a sip of water, "How's Erika?" Chance asked not so subtly, he didn't believe anything was going on between them, but he did find it strange that they'd been bonding so much, it had always been "team 10" and then there was Jake and Erika, but those worlds were merging a lot recently.

"Why are you asking me?" Anthony chuckled, Chance following him downstairs, "Your always with her," Chance responded, Anthony stopped briefly feeling unsettled, if Chance was starting to notice, who else was? Maybe he should stop, Erika was married, and he would be gambling with his life if anything happened...

"We're friends Chance, why are you being so weird about it?" Anthony laughed, trying to take his innocence, but Chance smelled a rat, Anthony had been so pure with his intentions so bent on staying out of trouble, now he was faltering, it just didn't make sense.

They walked silently into the kitchen, tension still in the air.

"It is It seems strange your hiding it bro, I'm or accusing you of anything,' Chance muttered looking at Anthony, whom refused to return that gaze, "I never said you were accusing me, I didn't say anything," Anthony chuckled again, he kept his hands busy, "Your doing it again," Chance responded, "Doing what?" Anthony snapped a little, the pressure weighing on him, Chances eyes widened, he was sure something was up now...

"Is something happening between you and Erika?" Chance questioned carefully, "Erika is married, why would anything be happening?" Anthony asked finally turing to face him from across the counter, the very fact that he mentioned her relationship status said it all...

Anthony realized it, Chance did too, they agree at each other in silence, "What the f-" Chance began saying as the shock set in, but someone came in shutting them both up, Anthony giving him a pleading look.

"Hey boys, tours in a little while, guess who's going with ya?" Greg said entering with a smile on his face, completely oblivious to what was going on; Surprisingly Greg had been involved in the round states trip, even though it was work, and Jake just needed someone on short notice to help keep maintenance with the vehicles and a bit of managing, Greg felt it was finally a bridge to bound with his youngest son again.

"Jake's been working his butt of for this thing, music, venues, meet and greets, new merch the fight coming up, heh- I'll be surprised he doesn't burn out" Greg made conversation, he was worried for Jake, his image meant everything to him, and with more shows and more peering eyes on him there was a bigger chance to mess up on stage.

"Jake's good at what he does, he'll burn out when he doesn't have anymore to do" Chance assured, he felt weird causally talking to Greg right now, but they couldn't just stand there....

"Oh I know he'll be fine, he's got a good solid team, great friends, a nice wife. I haven't been the best at giving him this, but according to now and what Erika has been telling me and his mom, Jake just needs extra understanding you know? I'm proud of the boy, and the people who stick around for him, " Greg said with a wink punching Anthony lightly on the arm, he grabbed a drink from the fridge a nd left out, presumably, to get back to work. Again the room fell silent.

Chance looked at Anthony again, frowning, making him look back..

"Tony," Chance said, "Yeah?" Anthony answered back nervously,

"Are you and Erika having an affair?"
