"I was talking about you, your gifts and how you were enjoying your birthday" Erika heard the answers so come out of her mouth, but it didn't sound like her, she said it quickly and calmly, she knew Jake and knew he didn't like being kept waiting, he got suspicious quickly...And even know she wondered if she sounded fishy with her answer.
"Of course you were- what better to talk about?" Jake responded, Erika couldn't tell if she should laugh or not, knowing Jake's ego.
Jake sat at the table, Erika sitting his tea down in front of him, before taking a seat next to him, she bit her lip watching Jake take a slow sip of his tea, there was so much she wanted to talk about, but so much she was scared to lose...Her and Jake were so wrapped up in each others lives, it was hard to even function normally, it was hard to keep anything from him as well.
"Why are you staring at me?" Jake suddenly snapped frowning at Erika, "Your handsome," Erika said, at least she could be honest about one thing. ..Jake stared back for a while sipping his tea, eyeing Erika for a moment, "You're beautiful," Jake said surprising her, Jake called her a lot of things, something as lovely as "beautiful" was not one of them , not usually, they didn't have a lot of these warm moments together, but when they did, it felt like magic...Erika couldn't fully enjoy it like normal, knowing she had done something so thoughtless.
"Gimmie kiss" Jake said leaning over, cupping Erika's cheek with on hand as he kissed her, Erika kissed back gently, Jake's grip slowly tighten on the side of her face, guiding her in his dominating - but passionate way, it wasn't as aggressive of a kiss like normal due to Jake being sick, but it was still very warm and intimate, both close g their eyes for a moment as they enjoyed each other's company, the chilly air outside only bringing them closer together.
As the two slowly pulled away from each other, Jake still held Erika's cheek, softly rubbing his thumb over it, the embrace still there even after the kisses stopped.
Jake had things in his mind, he was constantly tripping over every thought that cluttered his brain, but it was at a standstill when they were together, sometimes the way he acted towards Erika made him hate himself, she was the one who made him want to get therapy in the first place, made him want to get better in some type of way, she was special, she was different, she made the screaming stop.
"I'd kill for you," Jake said quietly, making Erika shudder, she didn't know if Jake accidentally said that out loud, or if he was actually wanting to tell her that, trying to add to their cute moment, but it was scary to hear, cause she knew it could be true seeing how violent Jake got when he was angry.
"Yo! Love birds, this is cute and all, but we need to party, Jake it's your birthday bro! Come on!" Logan spoke loudly coming into the room with his snow gear on, just as Jake and Erika has went for another kiss. "Yo, shut up Logan!" Jake shouted startling Erika and Logan briefly. Jake stood up looking at his brother before rolling his eyes, "I'll be down in a second," Jake told him, he kissed Erika's cheek before heading upstairs.
Logan let out a nervous breath once Jake was gone, "Dodged a bullet with that," Logan said, before turning to Erika, " You guys have been hugged up a lot lately - I ship it, " Logan laughed, Erika stated at the stairs Jake left up, seemingly deep in thought, "Erika?" Logan tired again frowning getting a little closer.
"Geez, how good was that kiss?" Logan chuckled again, "It wasn't good at all Tony... " Erika muttered, almost as if she was confirming something to herself, "Tony?" Logan frowned, "As in Anthony?? " Logan asked again getting more intrigued, Erika did a double take looking at Logan, before getting up clearing her throat, "I just remembered I had to text Tony about what they're buying for Jake," Erika said trying to dig herself out of a hole, she was friendly with Logan, they'd shared good moments together, but he was Jake's actual brother, and after everything that happened she didn't think Logan was stupid enough to let another girl come between them.
Logan stared at her, his bubbly smile gone, he looked suspicious of her now, "I'll be back, see ya..." Erika said getting up slowly, "That's all? With Anthony?" Logan asked before she could slide out, "Yeah, what do you mean? I just jumbled my words a little," Erika laughed it off, "Okay, I'm gonna get my cameras ready," Logan told her, he watched her for a while longer, before finally walking away.
As for Logan, while what he heard was strange, he had no reason to believe anything underhanded was going on, Erika was head over heels for Jake, and he knew first hand Jake was a wreck without Erika- there was no reason to stir up trouble on silly suspicion right? Jake was paranoid enough as is, he didn't need to feel like his home wasn't stable either...
"Ready?" Jake asked coming up to Logan, wearing his snow clothes now, "Yeah bro, let's hit it!" Logan said grinning, both heading out together.
