Chapter 17 SnowFlake Kisses

"I found it!" Kade shouted in triumph, he scrambled off his hands and knees, he had a smile of relief on his face as he saw the other team members relax as well. Team ten had been stuck outside for hours after Jake lost his watch, Jake himself wasn't going to spend the rest of his day in the snow searching, and requested for them to do it for him, as the day was quickly turning into a frosty night.

"Finally, I don't see why Jake couldn't just hire someone for this," Anthony complained , "Yeah or at least buy a metal detector" Nathan said trembling a little, Erika watched them while biting her tongue, the rest of the day had been full of complaining from the "search party", she couldn't blame them though, Jake put himself in a pedestal all the time, and now that they were actually suppose to be celebrating him, it was even worse.

"At least we can go home now, I'm starving" Nick said, "Don't forget freezing " Chance chimed in shivering, "Let's hurry back, before we get anymore frostbitten" Anthony said in annoyance. As they started to trudge home, Erika heard her phone buzz.

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑: Babe?!

Erika raised her eyebrows in surprise, she thought Jake was still salty over losing his watch, which she honestly didn't think he'd even want that much after complaining about the price.

Erika: Yes dear? What's up?

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑: Bring home dinner.

Erika tensed looking over at the team still complaining, she didn't think they'd want to stop for food after searching in the snow for so long, but if they didn't go for it, or if Erika came home alone, Jake would be angry, and there would be problems.

Erika: Sure, what do you want?

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑: Sandwiches. Did you find the watch??

Erika: Got it😌. Yes of course!

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑: Good, see you soon.

Erika: So you DID like your gift ☺

Erika bit her lip as anxiety went through her, maybe she had gotten too relaxed, and forgot how quickly Jake's mood could change, the t text was just a bit of a tease, since Jake was acting so stubborn before, but knowing Jake, he didn't like joking like that, this was the same man who felt disrespected just when people made too much eye contact with him. And now Erika was regretting texted back at all and not leaving it at that.

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑:...??? What's that mean?

Erika: Nothing never mind, I'll be back❤

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑: I asked you a question. Answer me.

Erika: Babe, it was nothing really, I just thought you didn't like it🐐

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑: Why are you playing with me?

Erika felt her heart pick up pace now, he was so insane, he couldn't take a joke or an ounce of teasing without flipping out, he had gotten better, but he was still Jake at the end of the day,

*Jake relapsed* Erika reminded herself, as her thumbs nervously danced around her phones keyboard

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑: Are you ignoring me?

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑: Answer!

Erika jumped seeing more text from Jake, she quickly began responding hoping to diffuse the situation, so Jake wouldn't get anymore nuts, thinking she had just mocked him and ignored him.

Erika: Jake, I thought you didn't like the watch honestly, that's all, I'm just happy you did, cause I want to make things perfect for you, it's your special week baby❤

Maybe that was enough to relax him, Erika did mean what she typed however, she did want the trip and his gifts to be extra special and help Jake forget the bit of spiral he was going through; There was still the mix of fear, exasperation and intoxication that went with being with Jake, but Erika loved him.

*He's hard to handle...* Erika thought gazing down at her phone, watching his speech bubble appear, her light breathing fogging up her phone, from the frost of the night, *But that fire...He lights my fuse* She thought warmly.

Jake was crazy, no doubt about it, he'd even gone to jail for his temper, and maybe Erika was insane for caring about him so much still...But their lives were tangled together now, neither would have guessed it when they met that they'd be married now, but Erika was still happy it happened, Jake Paul...Jake Joseph Paul, Everything about him gave her a rush like nothing else ever could.

Jakey/Dino/Hubby💓😈👑: ILY.

Erika laughed out loud, causing the others to look at her strangely, Jake hardly said it, it was hard for him to admit any tender feelings, after they'd been hurt and rejected for so long. He built a lock around his mind, and thought too critically about things to the point where, even if it was crazy to everyone else, if it made sense to Jake, in his world, it was okay to do, say or feel.

But Jake, after what they'd been through, even if she couldn't hear it in person, it made Erika smile.

Erika: I love you too Jake, I always will❤.

Erika arrived home with the sandwiches for dinner, after convincing everyone the night would go smoother if Jake got what he wanted, and they could all get to enjoying the trip after he was satisfied.

They sat and ate all talking together, although Erika could tell the only ones really comfortable actually enjoying time with Jake was her, and his brother. After they finished their meals they finally heading to bed, having another big day of activities planned outdoors for Jake and his vlog.

Erika slid under the big fluffy blanket, the fresh sheets and warmth heaven on her chilly skin, the room was quiet, it was the perfect mix of cold and heat, making it cozy in the cabin.

Jake got in with Erika, yawning.

"Are you enjoying the trip so far?" Erika asked, her voiced hushed, "Yeah" Jake muttered, making Erika smile, having Jake openly just admit something, without snark, made her feel like things were finally going well.

"We're riding go karts tomorrow right?" Erika asked, as she felt Jake's body shift up closer behind hers, "Mmhmm," Jake again mumbled , "You love fast cars don't you?" Erika said softly, "You know that, why are you asking me questions you already know the answer to?" Jake asked with a little annoyance in his sleepy voice, "Because I like to hear it from you, I like to hear what's on your mind" Erika told him, Jake shifted again, getting closer wrapping his strong arms around Erika, pulling her closer to him, making that much more snug and cozy.

Next thing Erika felt had her blushing, as Jake hugged her a little tighter, leaving a few sloppy kisses on her cheek and neck, the soft sounds of skin on skin, suddenly the only noise in the room.

Jake soon stopped, disappointing Erika, but she did enjoy snuggling with Jake still, the protective way he held her, reminding her of how clingy Jake had gotten just a little while back, and honestly, Erika loved it, maybe it was wrong, but Jake complaining and whining to see her, and fighting with everyone else made her feel giddy. Like it was just her and Jake against the world.

"Goodnight, dino" Erika whispered, relaxing in Jake's toned, secure hold. Jake only snored in response, this trip finally giving him a better nights sleep then he'd gotten since the birth and departure of his son.
