Valen's POV
---
Brody kissed me.
And while everyone was singing "Auld Lang Syne" heralding in the New Year, Brody and I were forehead to forehead staring into each others eyes and then kissing each other again.
I'm not going to lie, it is definitely nice kissing Brody, but for some reason his kiss pales in comparison to the electrifying kiss that was stolen by Tiernan.
Tiernan.
That asshole has been staring daggers at me all fucking night, probably angry at my outburst from earlier today; while my cousin is doing everything in her power to steer clear of me. She also stares daggers at me, like the little drama queen that she is; but like I told them earlier, I don't give two fucks and no matter how many daggers they throw at me with their eyes, or who they speak to about the bitch whore in their midst...I'm just going to smile and wave.
With my middle finger preferably.
I smile up at the boy that I have loved since I was 3 years old and say words that I know is going to push us in a direction that I am not really sure I am ready for. I know he wants it and I know that I need to stop thinking about my cousins boyfriend.
Fuck that sounds like I'm being selfish, but I'm not! I swear that I'm not, I love Brody already and I'm willing to have him back in my life; and maybe eventually sharing a romantic relationship like the way things were before Lovetta De Straepohn ruined everything.
"I love you Brody." I say hoping my eyes are conveying just how much I love him.
"I know, Little Flower." He smiles at me, longing and love blatantly transparent in his beautiful amber eyes.
Shaking my head, because I really need him to understand, "No Brody, I really love you and I wish we never..." I stop abruptly. Scared that he doesn't feel the same way about me, because despite the little touches, and the flirty words since we started talking again; they were all for show.
Right?
Smiling widely, Brody pulls me flush against his body and wraps his arms completely around me, "I know babe, are you sure you want this? Because I never wanted us to end."
Looking into his eyes, I can't stop my hand from reaching up to touch his handsome face lovingly. "I'm not going to lie, I'm scared. But I trust you, there is so much more that you could have done to hurt me in the past, it just so happens that the one time you did hurt me, you weren't in your right mind and that fucking obssessed fangirl was seriously psychotic! I mean who the heck goes that far? To make themselves look like someone just to get into bed with a guy?" I question him seriously, dibelief evident in my voice and in the incredulous squint of my eyes.
He answers with a shrug in return, and I know that he is just about to say something about him being irrisistable, so I hold up my hand for him to keep quiet, because I'm not done with giving him my answer to his question.
"In saying that, yes Brody. I am sure that I want to be with you."
Heaving a relieved sigh, he hoists me up in the air and twirls me around, "Thank fuck for that! I want to be with you so badly baby; but would it be too much to ask if we please take things slowly? You know get to know each other again and go with the flow?"
He notices the hurt look that I desperately try to hide and gently places me back onto the ground before he says, "It's not that I don't want to be with you Little Flower, trust me I do. We can be together, but just take things slow, instead of picking up right where we left off. I just want to do this right, so that we build a strong relationship foundation."
"What do you think?" he asks hesitantly.
Taking a few minutes to consider it carefully, I finally nod my head and say, "In all honesty, I am grateful that you love and respect me enough to think about the long haul instead of just jumping in with both eyes closed, figuratively speaking. So yes Brody, I think taking it slow would be more than acceptable." I concede.
