"I can't believe this. Who did I piss off to cause this kind of bad luck?" Ivy said exasperatedly as they marched through the forest. They were having Nature class and the teacher had told Danny and her friends to work with the gods and find a trumpet flower. "I'm starting to think this is the Fates way of messing with us." Marcie said. "They're probably doing this for kicks and giggles and cackling in that stupid cave of theirs." Danny rolled her eyes at her friends' theatrics. She didn't like the gods, but all their talking was starting to mess with her head. "Like we want to work with you." Artemis said, disgust evident in her tone.

Before anyone could respond, Danny unleased her claws. "Anyone grumble again about us working together or some other shit then I swear on the Isles I will make your arms my latest nail file. We good?" They all nodded. Even her friends knew when she wasn't messing around, she wasn't messing around. "Good. Marceline, could you please find the tuba flower we're currently looking for?" Danny asked as she retracted her claws. "It's a trumpet flower." Marcie said as she summoned her staff. Danny shrugged, "Whatever, just find the trombone flower." Marcie rolled her eyes and waved her staff in the air. It was clear until it started glowing blue. "This way." she said and they followed her until Thunder abruptly stopped walking.

"Thun, you okay bro?" Jack asked. Thunder looked around until he said, "Anybody else hear that?" "Hear what?" asked Arian. "Like someone running. Two someones actually." Thunder replied and ran ahead of them. "Thunderstorm you idiot, we're meant to stay together." Marcie said as they followed him. "Shh, how can you not hear it?" Thunder asked. "Because not all of us are large dogs." Dikē said. "Wait, I can hear it. Two people running this way, girls I think." Danny said and her heart leaped. What if it was Cali? She listened again and heard running footsteps and then... paws?

They turned and saw a golden brown wolf and Danny knew it was Cali. Sitting on her back was a petite girl with big midnight blue eyes and blonde hair with pink highlights. The girl got off and Cali turned back into a girl. "I knew I would recognise that lavender scent anywhere." Cali said as she approached them, the blonde girl trailing behind her. "This is Seren Celine Nova. Seren Celine, these are friends of mine." Seren waved shyly. "No, hold up," Ivy said, "we are friends of hers," she said pointing to themselves, "They," she pointed to the gods, "are most certainly not our friends." Cali chuckled and was about to speak when they heard a large screech. "That reminds me," Cali said, "I believe Griselda is still trying to kill you and me as well since I disobeyed her. Seren Celine, because she just so happened to be with me at that moment." A large bat like creature emerged from behind the trees with bloodshot eyes, large disgusting fangs and red veins all over its body.

Thalia, Eileithyia and Jack's family friend, Chione Boreas, screamed. "The hell is that?!" Vlad yelled with wide eyes. "Marcie, please tell me you know what it is," Thunder said slowly. "Of course I know what it is. It's a bat." Marcie said. They looked at her incredulously. "How in Hades' name does that look like a fucking bat to you?!" Jack said exasperatedly. The creature screeched at them and headed for Danny before Marcie raised a barrier over them. The creature immediately started scratching the barrier in an attempt to break it.

"It is a bat, but Griselda hexed it so it's bigger and uglier. I can reverse it, but the herb I need is on that side of the forest." Marcie said. "So we're trapped here?!" Chione shrieked. Marcie rolled her eyes. "No, Snow queen." She turned to the vampires, "Which one of you's the fastest?" "Vlad." Ivy and Arian said simultaneously. "Why me?" Vlad whined. "Because idiot, although naturally Anna here is the fastest, her powers are still evolving so she isn't fast enough. And everyone knows werewolves and shapeshifters aren't as fast in their human state. Now smell." Marcie said and held her staff up to Vlad's nose. "Mmm... smells like gingerbread." Vlad said. "Focus Vlad. Find the plant with that scent and looks like this." she showed Vlad an image of a plant in her staff.
