Danny sighed as she finished drawing the last healing sigil around Jack. The past few hours had definitely been eventful, to say the very least. Her greatest worry now was Jack; he was still unconscious and growing warmer by the minute. For an ordinary person, it probably didn't mean much. But Jack was the personification of snow - he didn't do warm. His normal body temperature was frozen cold, but now it was as warm as her bath temperature. None of Marcie's spells had worked, and Seren's magic scan revealed that no spell would because the type of spell Griselda used could only be broken by her. That was the last thing she needed, now they had to find Griselda so they could heal Jack. And to think earlier she had planned on having fun at her first Samhain ball. She didn't even make it to the bonfire. On the plus side, there was always next year and, during December, there was the Yule festival. There was also Ancestors' Blot, a Germanic festival that Jack had been excited about, especially since normally only Pegasus celebrated with him. This year, they all would and it was a new experience for everyone. That made Danny groan. She couldn't even think without Jack infiltrating her thoughts. She patted Jack and dragged her feet upstairs to her room. She suddenly felt a chill.

Danger princess, run, run. You are not alone.

She whirled around and caught the dagger thrown at her by the hilt. Griselda grinned, "Well done. It seems as if Eulalie's not the only one that can sense danger." Danny scowled, "Aren't you tired of this? For goodness sake Griselda, I'm seventeen. Don't you have anything else to do than bother me?" "I wouldn't have to if you just give me what I want," Griselda said. "But no worries, we'll finish this. Tell your friend to show you where she found me and we can make a simple trade; your magic for the antidote to the son of Frosti's condition. Surely it's worth it?" Danny tossed the idea in her head. Whether or not Griselda wanted to kill her was still a mystery, but Jack's antidote was a deal too good to pass up. She sighed, "Fine, we have a deal. But which friend are you talking about?" "The blonde one of course," Griselda said. "See you soon Aurianna." This was such a bad idea, but she had no choice. She changed her outfit and woke up Courtney. It was time to finish things.

Danny drove down the almost empty street, her mind fully on her goal. The sun was just rising, so the only people out were the early morning joggers and workers. "Make a right here," Courtney's quiet voice broke through her thoughts and she turned right. This road was much emptier, and eventually it was just her on the road. "No offense, but where did you get an Aston Martin?" Courtney asked. Danny raised a brow, "Court, I'm part witch. I just closed my eyes and it magically appeared." "And Lawrence didn't freak?" Courtney said. "Lawrence doesn't live in Wisconsin anymore. He and the boys left," Danny said. Courtney looked at Danny expectantly. "What?" Danny asked. Courtney sighed, "I get that I'm not high on your friend list, but you could at least tell me where." "That's an argument for later, trust me we will discuss it, but not now. After I've gotten rid of Griselda," Danny said. She picked up her phone and dialed Cali, knowing she would be the only one awake. She put her phone on speaker and waited for Cali to answer. She didn't wait long.

"Good morning Aurianna. And please do not take this the hard way but are you not upstairs in your bedroom?" Cali's low drawl came through the phone. "Actually, I'm in Florida," Danny said. A pause, then Cali asked, "Dare I ask why?" Danny chuckled, "You probably shouldn't. I don't think you'll like it very much." "Well, I most certainly cannot argue with that," Cali said. "And I believe Courtney is with you as well? Her scent has faded, but I thought that was simply my imagination fooling me." "She had a role to play," Danny said. Another pause before Cali sighed, "Whatever it is you choose to do, do as quickly as possible and safely too. I will explain to the others of your departure." Danny smiled in relief, "Thanks Cal."
