Danny combed her hair and packed it into a ponytail. She wore her necklace, a watch and a bracelet and applied some watermelon flavoured lip gloss. "Who's ready to partay?" Marcie said as she strolled into her room. Danny turned from the mirror to grin at her. "I am," she said and looked at her friend's outfit. Marcie wore a black denim jacket, black leggings, a red, long sleeved shirt and black sneakers. Danny smirked, "Looking good Williamson." Marcie smirked back, "Not so bad yourself Westminster." Danny glanced at her black boots, black leggings and red plaid shirt that reached her knees and shrugged, "Meh, I try. Why do you think Jack said we should come 30 minutes early?" Marcie looked thoughtful then shrugged, "Maybe Pegasus needs our help for some last minute changes. We'll know when we get there. Now let's go, you're the only one left." Danny did a quick once-over at the mirror then nodded, "Let's go then."

They went downstairs where the other girls were waiting. "And the princess is ready," Ivy said. "Now we can leave." Danny rolled her eyes, "Whatever Winston." Ivy grinned impishly. "You can argue later," Marcie said as she summoned her staff, "Party first." Seren levitated the box containing the cake. Ivy tried to remove the cover of the box but Seren slapped her hand away, "You'll see it at the party. Now leave it." "Can I come?" Hayden asked hopefully. Marcie sighed and patted his head, "Sorry bud, but no. I don't know what's going to happen tonight and I'd rather you stay here so that nothing bad happens to you." Hayden's face fell. "But," Marcie continued, "you can come with me to school. How about that?" Hayden smiled and nodded vigorously. Marcie smiled, "Good. There's a box of toys for you to play with over there. See you soon Hayden." They each told him bye and Marcie teleported them to the field where Pegasus had shown them for the party. Danny's eyes nearly fell out of her head. "I thought you said last minute changes," she whispered to Marcie. "I thought so too," she murmured back. The field was bare - no decorations, no drinks, nothing to show signs of a party. The only thing that confirmed it was the place they were looking for was the boys trying to set up a banner reading 'Happy birthday Medusa'. Pegasus was nowhere to be seen. Jack ran up to them, "Good, you're here. The others need help with the banner." The banner began wavering before falling down. They could hear Vlad curse in Ukrainian and Thunder rant in what Danny believed to be Russian. "What happened?" Ivy finally asked. "Did someone steal the party stuff overnight?" Jack shook his head, "No, they never got here. Pegasus had already told the caterers and the decorators what he wanted but we had a test this morning so he couldn't tell them where to send it. He told Poseidon to do it but the no good bastard sent the wrong location. All the stuff has been ruined and they'll be here in 29 minutes." Danny looked at Jack wide eyed as he spoke. "So where is Pegasus now?" Cali asked. "Over there, by the edge of the forest. He looked so sad I told him to take a time out." Jack said. Danny turned and, sure enough, at the edge of the field was a small cliff and on top was part of the forest. Pegasus sat at the edge, his legs dangling down and Danny didn't need anyone to tell her-she could see his distraught expression watching the other guys from where she stood. "You guys wait here, I'm gonna talk to him," she said and went to the sit beside him. A few seconds passed in silence before he sighed, "It's not what you were expecting, was it? My mom's gonna be disappointed once she gets here." She turned and saw him stare straight ahead, "I guess it is bad. But you're an idiot."

Pegasus frowned and turned to her, "How am I the idiot?"

She rolled her eyes and slapped the back of his head, "Because moron, you forget you have 2 witches, a shapeshifter, 3 vampires, a werewolf, an immortal and a fairy for best friends. All of us are willing to help, if you would just let us."

Pegasus stared at the ground, not saying anything and Danny continued, "I know you've done things by yourself for a while now but not anymore. We're best friends Pegs, and there's nothing wrong with asking for help. You can't continue carrying everyone's burdens, even horses know when they need other horses' help. Come on, what do you say we throw Medusa the best birthday ever? Seren's cake can't go to waste, in fact, I'm pretty sure she'll strangle you if it does." Pegasus looked at her and grinned, "Now we can't waste good cake, now can we?" They laughed. "How long do we have?" Pegasus asked.
