"It all started years before you were born." Medusa said. She had finally calmed down and sat opposite Pegasus and Danny, holding a cup of tea. "Eulalie and I were best friends and we both attended Willowbrook Academy. We had another close friend, a red haired witch named Griselda." Danny looked at the picture in her hand. "You mean her?" Pegasus asked.

Medusa nodded. "She was the most daring amongst us and was usually in some trouble or the other. But the three of us were very close and we planned to stay that way. Unfortunately, plans change." Medusa chuckled humorlessly. "Raegan was new and immediately gained attention because he was handsome and because he was a prince."

Danny's jaw dropped. Her father was a prince? That made her a princess. She turned to see Pegasus with a similar expression. This was new. "Raegan was the Master of Darkness, soon to be Lord of Darkness and next in line to rule the Dark Isles, the kingdom of the shadow beasts. He came to Willowbrook to learn more about the world outside the Dark Isles. He became good friends with Thanatos, he is the other person in the picture, and, because I spoke to Thanatos often, it was inevitable that he and Eulalie would meet. Problem was the two argued about everything, even ice cream flavours." She chuckled. "It didn't take long though for me and Eulalie to notice that Griselda had something of a crush on Raegan and Eulalie immediately set to work playing matchmaker. She didn't like Raegan, but she was ready to bear him for Griselda's sake.

"Unfortunately, Raegan didn't feel the same and told Griselda exactly. He saw her as a sister and was in love with someone else already-Eulalie. He asked me and Griselda to help him win Eulalie over and, after a few months, they began courting and were extremely happy. Eulalie kept asking Griselda if she was okay with her courting her ex-crush and each time Griselda would say yes, she was fine with it and was over Raegan. Little did we know that they were lies."

"Immediately after graduation, Eulalie and Raegan got married and, a year after, you were born. The day you were born was Raegan's happiest day-other than his wedding. Never had I seen him smile so wide or a baby so powerful. Even as a new born, your magic was extremely powerful and anyone that you didn't know tried to touch you would get blasted to the other side of the room. He was so proud of you and couldn't wait for you to grow up so he could show you the Dark Isles."

"But, trouble came sooner than we expected. Three months after you were born, Griselda came back to Willowbrook. She claimed that she had been studying magic in a foreign country but had completed her course so she was back. We were very happy to see her and Eulalie invited her to stay at their house for as long as she wanted. On their wedding anniversary, they went out for dinner while Griselda was to look after you."

"Through out the dinner, Eulalie kept feeling that something was horribly wrong. Raegan eventually took them home because Eulalie just wouldn't calm down until she had seen you. When they got home, they were shocked to see Griselda trying to take your powers while you were shielding yourself with your magic. She said it was the price for letting them stay together since Eulalie had taken the love of her life away. A fight broke out and, on impulse, Eulalie took you and came to me. She told me what had happened and said she had to leave but will come back once you were old enough and it was safe. She left and I haven't seen her since. As for Raegan, he stayed back and eventually banished Griselda and forbade her from entering Willowbrook. The night it happened, we planned to find Eulalie and bring her back but, the following day, Raegan had disappeared without leaving a message or anything for us to find him and he was the only one who knew where Eulalie was. The house was sealed shut and we were unable to find either one of them since then."

By the time Medusa was done telling her story, she had started crying again while Danny just sat there, unable to say anything and constantly wondering, where was her father?
