luke walked- no, ran- down to the closest game shop, clutching his beanie and his belongings in his pocket.

"f-fuck, shit." he muttered, trying to catch his breath. his heart raced furiously as he tried to run with a straining cramp in his side. tears pricked at his eyes from the pain, but he ignored it.

luke was never a fit lad, but he wasn't like michael, who sat around all day playing video games and eating pizza with the shades closed and the doors locked. luke was skinny, but he just didn't have time to do any physical fitness.

he found the shop, quickly sprinting with all the energy he had left. he ran to the dairy section, grabbing the milk that stood there and threw money on the counter of the cashier yelling, "keep the change!"

he ran out, running back the adie's house. luke's legs started to ache, sweat running down the side of his face.

luke finally made it to his cousin's flat, almost tripping while going up the stairs to her floor in the apartment complex.

he busted open the unlocked door to see adie with the timer in her hand. "nice job, little cousin. i actually wasn't really timing you, i just wanted milk for my cereal." she evilly smirked.

luke groaned and slammed the carton of milk on the table. "so i ran under 5 minutes for nothing? you really weren't going to send that embarassing picture of me to ashton?"

adie shook her head no, laughing. luke managed to get back his breathe, swallowing down a big gulp of a glass of water.

"i'm going to the balcony." luke mumbled, grabbing his phone before trudging to the sliding door.
he opened the door, closing it after he stepped outside into the balcony. he sat down on the rocking chair,

plugging his phone into the speakers.
luke set his music onto the playlist, 'london' which was a mix of slow, sad songs that made him calm down.
he closed his eyes and leaned his head back, pulling his hood of his jacket up and stuffing his hands into his sweatpants.

"LUCAS!" adie yelled from inside. luke groaned and yelled back, telling her to shut up. "lower your music! i'm trying to watch american horror story!"
luke rolled his eyes and turned the knob, making the volume lower. wake me up by ed sheeran started playing as he closed his eyes once again.

"i should ink my skin, with your name..." he heard a voice trail off. luke opened one of eyes to see a small teenage boy across from him, looking from his balcony.

the boy had a slight tan with dark hair, his fringe touching his ears. he almost thought he was asian. (a/n this is fetus ok)

the boy instinctly hid behind the clothes that hung on the railing. luke sat up, lowering the volume once more.

"hey, it's fine." he called out to the boy. the boy popped his head up and shot him a small smile before walking back inside his flat.

luke stood up, pouting at the absense of the boy. he walked back inside, plopping next to adie.

"hey, who's the asian guy that lives across from your balcony?" he interrogated. adie looked up from her phone to answer luke.

"oh him? i think his name is calum." she muttered back.
calum, he kept repeating in his head. calum, calum, calum.
